Kerins scored two more goals than Schwindt last year. He only scored two less overall points than Schwindt. He played 12 less games. He is 1 year younger. Not that shabby IMO....

Flames could let him play on an AHL deal all year and then sign him before July 1st, not to burn a year off his ELC.

And here I was hoping we'd win the Tkachuk trade.
I'm glad Pelletier made it to the Wranglers, he's going to tear up the AHL this year, and will get a callup after we move some bodies this year.
Let's go kid, I want to see you succeed with the Flames.

And the Flames didn’t think he was NHL quality either.

I guess, however in training camp Keirns was in the 3rd group and an early cut

In all fairness, with Conroy's trading for prospects and then selecting 10 more prospects in the draft a drop of 10 wasn't all that uncommon.

Schwindt centered the Wranglers #1 line in the playoffs, and Kerins didn't dress.

Question that I have! How often does it actually happen that a player gets claimed, then eventually put back on waivers, and reclaimed by their original team? I get that it CAN happen! But does it actually happen?
What % of a chance would you guess there to be for Schwindt actually returning?
Well that’s way more than 1 question but I would appreciate any attempt to respond.

Hes been a 0.5 PPG player at the AHL level for three years.
What a number #1 center!

what do you expect for minor league players? Whatever that is, Kerins was way worse

Improvment? He showed none of that over his 3 years in the AHL.

Well, I imagine if Schwindt establishes himself as an NHL player, he will not be expected to be productive offensively but rather to contribute in other ways.

They did made 2 claims. Sure they will have to find space or put them back.
Are you saying they would claim Pelletier if they have room? I don’t think so.
At this point he falls into the category too small and not good enough. Nobody is reaching into that bin

If, at some point, Honzek ultimately ends up this season in the AHL, an option would be to move him to centre if the Flames still see him as having potential at that position.

The Wranglers are in a bit of a bind at center, and with Sharky nicked up the Flames really have no depth at all there. Wouldn't be surprised if the Flames did a trade for a veteran AHL center of some type.
