How do you see things lining up at centre for the Wranglers this season, Scorp?

Not true, they have their own roster to manage as well. They likely didn’t have room for 2 waiver claims without exposing someone they didn’t want to lose.

Why would it be "Probably" if we waived him? Maybe i am missing something.

Wonder if Vegas would take Rooney over Schwindt in a trade? Probably not, they likely someone making as little as possible.

I bet Schwindt will be available again later in the year.

Cooley was not going to be claimed, some are really over valuing him. A career minor leaguer at the age of 27 who could not get a 1 way contract...

Except he did from the Flames, year two is a one way deal. If year two was not a 1 way deal I actually believe someone would have put in a claim. There is a great skillset there with size, he just needs more time to be properly coached.

It's a little late in the game now that the Western League season is well underway, with teams already committed to their own overage players.

He has a solid camp though which can change things...I bet Vancouver would have claimed him if their guy wasn't put back on waivers

But they would have had to keep Silovs, Lankinen and Cooley then? The guy the canucks grabbed can go to waivers since they re-claimed him

yeah I suppose that is a factor, I'm not shocked he wasn't claimed but I don't think it was out of the question. I knew nothing of him and was pretty impressed with his camp TBH.

In the depth charts, I would curious how they lined up.

My guess Morton is the player who will be the 4th line center.

Not sure by when, late this year?

I think getting Lipinski in the mix would be awesome. He likely never turns into more than a bottom 6 center but I was quite impressed with him in camp this year. Late draft pick turning into any sort of roster player would be great

Schwindt (according to CP) went from our 13th ranked prospect in 2023 to 27th in 2024.

With Schwindt being claimed, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lipinski get a contract.

Hopefully this lights a fire under Pelts. Had an awesome trajectory until injuries. Time to continue that trajectory.

Prospect rankings always value ceiling over floor/NHL readiness.
