I started reading more into the January 6 stuff and it's crazy to me just how much Trump got away with. The false electors plot alone should've stopped him from even being able to run again. The man literally tried to overturn American democracy
Yeah, but Harris doesn't answer interview questions well and has an annoying laugh.

Just curious on why you think this? the polls are getting less accurate every cycle, party lines are close but it leans left in registered voters, only an independent with a screw loose would vote red right now with the way the supreme court and the loud MAGA crowd is acting.
Here's the way I see it, I think this is going to be a historic election turnout for women voters and they're going to make this a landslide for the Dems.
Because Trump seems intent on pissing off every group except MAGAts. You’re a woman who wants control over her body? That’s gone. LGBTQ rights? That, too. Immigrants, even legal ones? Many of you will be gone or locked up. Good government for everyone? Gone to be replaced by government for Trump’s enrichment. You don’t think perverts should be able to target young girls? Trump’s bragged about doing that. Want safety in the streets? Trump says he’ll deploy the military against Americans. You want world peace? We could have WWIII as Trump gives Ukraine to Russia and moves out of NATO.
There are many reasons this should be a landslide. Despite the polls, which I don’t believe anyway. Polls are wildly inaccurate. Didn’t believe them when they showed Trump leading and I don’t believe them now.
A lot of people despise Hillary. A lot of people are ambivalent about her. A lot of people have a strong sense of respect for her. Almost no one really likes her.

Just my 2 cents, I was always a big fan of Hillary, and continue to be, more so than Bill. She was the engine behind his career, and probably the smarter and more mature of the two. She just never had the charisma necessary to win people over.
She was also arguably the most qualified person to run for President given her background.
Not good on the stump, bad campaign strategy but probably would have been really good at the job.
I tried to find the quote but someone said the one unpardonable sin in politics was to be bad on TV. She did that in spades.
It's a shame how the system works. Hucksterism over substance.

For the sake of the U.S., Canada, and the rest of the world, I really hope you're right. I don't have much faith in the American electorate these days, but so far it's looking good for the Dems and there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel. As long as Trump continues to sink his campaign with bats*** crazy pressers and racist/sexist tirades, Harris should be able to sustain the momentum.
You just know that people on Trump's team are begging him to tone down the insanity, but the guy just can't help himself. He's completely unravelled since Biden stepped down. Mentally he's gone so far off the rails, I'm not sure he can turn the momentum back in his favour at this point. Still a long way to go though, so who knows. It's gonna be a crazy finish.

And cat ladies. You forgot cat ladies. And anyone that respects the Medal of Honor. Or the military. Or democracy.
Or the bodily autonomy of living room furniture. Who will think of the living room furniture?
If I can have any sympathy for anyone named Trump, it is reserved for that poor kid. I don't think I would trade for his life for anything. I can't imagine how messed up he must be.
I mean yeah, he's definitely messed up, but he's not someone worth feeling much sympathy for given that he's essentially just a spoiled rich kid and, as a result, an #######. I don't typically feel sympathy for those types, and there are many of them.

I saw Hailey and Lindsay Graham basically begging him to stick to issues. In his speech he focussed on how he is better looking than Harris.

<snip> In the light of facts I no longer feel sympathy due to his actions.

Reason: CHL Shows the light.
It's just that he did not have any choice in the matter. We don't know he is an ####### so that is actually pretty unfair.
Based on recent reports, he has a habit of murdering small animals, including, in one case, a dog. He has attacked other kids with a knife. He was investigated for inappropriately touching another kid at a sleepover.
So yeah, just as I didn't have much time for sexual assault perpetrators claiming they had "affluenza" or whatever to try to excuse their behaviour, I certainly don't have time for this, and someone who gets to live an extremely privileged life of luxury is not anywhere near getting on my list of "people to feel sorry for".

For the folks that don't recognize these guys, who are they?
The one on the far left is Colby Covington UFC player. Not sure who the joker beside him is dressed like a complete clown. The guy beside Baron is the podcaster from Iran Patrick David something, and I don't know who the midget is. Seems like a random they grabbed off the street to take a picture.

Ironically, he may actually grow up to be a kind contributing member of society as a rejection of his family. Who knows? I just feel bad for him any time I have seen him. Maybe that's just me.
We obviously don't have much insight into the family and kid but at least with Baron it seems like he has mostly been raised and likely influenced by Melania. They have largely been removed from Trump's political career so maybe he'll be alright growing up.
He might be like Tiffany where she is largely removed from the craziness of Donald and the brothers. I think she is mostly a normal contributing member of society.

Ouch. Did not know any of that. I hereby retract my sympathy.
I'd like to push back on this a little, I think she hurt herself by saying "vote for me because I am a woman and will be the first female president" instead of marketing a robust platform that targeted the needs of America.
Without googling, what were her campaign promises?
All I remember from her campaign was
1. She was not trump.
2. she wanted to be the first female president.
in the big picture there is nothing wrong with her promoting her gender and highlighting inequities in politics, but in the long run she totally missed the tide of the times, Americans wanted change, and big change for better or worse. She was pandering to the status quo, another 4 years of Obama, and it was not what the the voting public wanted.

In all seriousness, though, Kamala is in a similar spot with the addendum of abortion rights. It's basically,
1. I'm not Trump
2. I'm also not Biden
3. I want to be the first female President
4. Trump cost you your right to choose, I will sign a law restoring the prior status quo
... Policy wise, not much else so far. And I think that's totally fine at this stage - that's what a convention is for. She'll have an hour of primetime on Thursday to sprinkle in major policy items that define what she's for. I'm just hoping we hear a whole lot of labour-oriented messaging... though that can also come from Walz to a significant degree.
