I've tried to watch these conventions, both RNC and DNC, this year and in previous years and I can't last very long. It must take a very special person to sit through a full day session let alone four straight days of this stuff. My head is ready to explode after an hour or so.

I'll watch the speeches of people I care to hear from. I'll watch Obama and Harris at least, and Shapiro presumably.
Strange for Harris to make a cameo on night 1. But also, I notice that Freedom by Beyonce is now effectively her WWE walk out song. It seems to only be used for her entrance and exit. Have their been other politicians with their own specific song?

Doesn't Hillary have her own song too? Fight Song? They used it during her campaign and they played it tonight for her.
Does Joe Biden have some sort of weird new "growth" on the left side of his chin?

America's entire election process is too much. Most countries' election campaigns wrap up in 2 months or less. In the U.S. it feels like they campaign non-stop for 2+ years leading up to an election. It's beyond ridiculous.

The way Harris has flipped this is truly amazing. Things looked dire in July like real bad.
Beat ass at the polls in November. Put in jail in December and hopefully that’s the last we ever see or hear from him again.

These conventions are really only for 2 groups of people:
1) political junkies
2) those who still haven't made their minds up yet
So in other words, it's not meant for the majority of people.
That said, night 1 of the DNC brought more substance and good speeches than the 4 nights of the RNC put together.

The purpose of the DNC is to generate positive news coverage for a week.

Republicans watching it seem defeated. Good. You brought this on yourself.
Even heard Nany Pelosi talk about them. She said they need the GOP back to like it was before. It’s better for America. This isn’t a real party.

They're clearly not defeated. The race is a statistical tie. Actually, the past couple of days the Harris momentum kind of stalled, based on thw polls. That despite her having about as good a month as it's possible to have. She actually kind of needs this thing to give her a boost and start trending up again.

The purpose of the DNC is to feed meat to the base, while reaching out to undecided voters. Positive news coverage is a nice bonus insofar that it helps reach undecided voters.

The betting odds have Kamala as a slight favorite. I'm not convinced that it's a statistical tie right now.
Her level of support now is very similar to the level of support Biden had in the 2020 election. So she's not pushing past that, at least not yet. This should be a surprise to no one. Trump has a very loyal core of supporters, and the Trump campaign is pouring unholy amounts of money into blasting the swing states with lies and propaganda. Kamala winning this race won't be easy, but for you to frame it like she's in some kind of dire state and desperately needs the DNC to save her is... not accurate.

Some people, even some in this thread think Trump is a good candidate because its close and he could win.
This should be a landslide election for the GOP but Trump is trending to blow it for them again! Guy lost to Biden FFS he sucks at this stuff.

Also I want to point out that the anti-Democrat misinformation video I "debunked" earlier was from the New York Times.
Silicon Valley is also (mostly quietly) lining up behind Trump after Bidens administration took Google to court for abusing their monopoly.
Bezos and Zuckerberg and all the rest know that they could be next if Harris wins. (I honestly don't hold out much hope for Harris.)

Just curious on why you think this? the polls are getting less accurate every cycle, party lines are close but it leans left in registered voters, only an independent with a screw loose would vote red right now with the way the supreme court and the loud MAGA crowd is acting.
Here's the way I see it, I think this is going to be a historic election turnout for women voters and they're going to make this a landslide for the Dems.
