Similarly, what trade value do you think the Flames could have gotten at that point? A 6th round pick? 5th? What team would have offered anything of value at that point and why would the Flames be so eager to move on from a guy that they just supported for a year and a half while he dealt with some mental health issues.
Don’t mean to be rude but your point is completely devoid of any thought or consideration. Easily one of the most poorly thought out things I’ve read on this board in recent memory.

Why are there so many people here that make personal attacks any time they disagree with a comment. Why not just make your comment and leave it at that. Also, if he doesn’t sign here, we will have received nothing for him. At which point my comment would be pretty accurate. I do hope I’m wrong and he signs.

That’s not a personal attack, that’s a comment on your comment.

IMO Kylington can do whatever he chooses is best for him.
I hope he continues to be well.

Even if it doesn't get done before July 1st I have no other expectation then that he will be back with the Flames regardless.

So what happened few days after someone told you kylington only felt comfortable playing for the Flames to him wanting to test free agency?
Genuinely curious. Maybe your source was wrong or making it up?

Is there any rumours as to what Calgary offered him?

I haven’t heard any, other than it was a one-year deal for likely around the same amount of money.
Kylington wanted a multi-year deal and the Flames picked up Bean, basically shutting the door on Kylington.
Kylington gambled on getting a multi-year deal and lost. Really as simple as that.

Where did you hear that? I can't recall that any of the CP insiders shared any intel.

If the Flames offer was likely 1 year for about the same money, no wonder he turned it down, as he was basically guaranteed to get a similar offer elsewhere, and from a contender no less, plus the upside of potentially more. The "more" did not pan out obviously, but the still got a similar deal. Seems like a decent gamble.

I’m just guessing but he probably signs if the 4 year deal is not presented to him.
I’m pretty sure he wanted security and the Flames with every deal did not commit more than 2 years to anyone.

I dont have intel or anything, but I get the impression he pissed Conroy off and that takes some doing.

I have no idea. It was just in Conroy's Post-Oliver negotiation presser, he was a little less chipper (for Conroy) and that "door is closed" comment and then immediately filling Kylington's spot with Bean.

He did what any good GM does. He had a plan. When a deal wasn’t done on July 1st he moved on.
I don’t think anyone is pissed off. Bean is probably the better player anyways.

Yeah someone said a 4 year deal was on the table and it was Washington. Not surprising, but they made a trade to fill the hole.
