This Jasper thing is unbelievable. We typically get out there every two years, but this year we were booked to camp third week of August at Whistlers, which would have been two years in a row. I've been enjoying Jasper and Waterton more and more as Banff and Lake Louise have become so busy over the last 10-15 years. To lose one of the major mountain towns in Alberta is devastating. You cannot persuade a rabidly vocal (and annoying) minority of people that we need to start building more recreation towns now so there will be the capacity for future generations to enjoy the mountains in the same way prior generations considered us. And now we just lost one of three or four mountain towns. What a nightmare.
