The great majority of players in the NHL with $5mil+ contracts have trade protection. That’s just the way the league is going.

It's not that easy because people who you don't ignore respond and then you see the posts. Plus it continues to take up space.

It's way beyond putting them on ignore. Responses to them go on for pages and pages, making other conversation difficult and fractured.
The arguments are circular and pointless - everything gets dragged into one person's selfish and irrelevant agenda.

I much preferred arguing over David Jones. He was great, wasn't he?

He was alright but he was no Anton Babchuk.
Actually on that note - does anyone else get Babchuk vibes from Miromanov?

We all await the next player who Scorp endorses with the same passion that he did Jones.

Jones > Derek Ryan > Phillips > Sharangovich > ???
At least his takes on who is a good player seem to be getting better

It’s never really that simple. Sharangovich is/was producing better with both Huberdeau and Lindholm individually than he even did with Hughes.
Lots of opportunity here. Especially if Huberdeau is rounding back into a P/G player.

I wonder if Sharangovich can hit 40g on the season. That's be amazing.

Power play 1 on an elite power play, playing alongside elias pettersson, with the a 27% shooting (the highest rate since the early 90s). And he only got 74 with that.
Seem to be setting your hopes FAR too high.
Yegor has gotten to new highs via a higher shooting% and power play opportunities that he didn't have elsewhere.

80 points is very hard, especially if you aren’t playing with great offensive players.
Since the calendar turned, Hubby is on a 70 point pace.
I just don’t think Kuz plays a good enough all around game to get that type of premium ice time required to get to 80 points.

In Oct and Nov Sharky had 5 goals in 23 games. 0.217 G/GP for a season pace of 17.8 goals.
Since Dec 1, he has scored 23 goals in 43 games. 0.535 G/GP for a season pace of 43.9 goals.
I fully believe that he has the ability to be a perennial 35+ goal scorer. And with basically a 44 goal pace since Dec. 1 and I think still a higher ceiling, I would not at all be surprised to see him flirt with 50 goals in a couple seasons.

Of course it’s hard, nobody said it was easy. I said I’d love to see if he could hit that, and I just don’t really see any value in writing off the possibility. As it stands now in his limited time with the Flames and the issues I already pointed out (figuring out his place in the lineup, dealing with health issues) he’s already producing at a rate higher than the 25/50 you’re hoping he’ll get to, so I’m comfortable calling your view pessimistic and mine optimistic, with the most likely result being him falling somewhere in the middle (if he’s healthy and maintains his role in the top 6).

Has anybody been thankful we didn't get any thing from NJ? That team, is hot garbage. I don't know - I just feel like we really dodged some trash there.

I would take their picks though.
Mercer is pretty bland. Their pick this year would be more desirable.
