Frankly, I think anyone would be stupid to take your word over that of a professional who has spent his whole life in the game and has been in management since he retired from playing.
So yeah, we don't really care what you think of the guy. Sucks to be you.

A cynic would rather be unhappy than right.
Cannon is a prime specimen of a cynic.

This reminds me of when my mom and dad split up and my dad accused my mom of taking less for the sale of the house just to spite him.
The house was for sale on MLS for 60 days. Everyone had a chance to offer what they thought the house was worth and my dad thought it was too low. Thoughts dont matter dad, the value is what the buyers are willing to pay.

I'd be lying if I said I was specifically watching the Golden Knight's' injury prone #7 defenceman. But if I saw anything more than a depth defenceman in him I'd readily share that opinion. And I have a 22 year track record on this forum that isn't too shabby in this regard, if I don't say so myself.

Looks like the biggest whiner on this forum has gone off the deep end again. Really shocking turn of events.

CP's resident pro scout letting everyone here know over and over and over again what a terrible player Sharangovich was before he'd even played a minute for the Flames, and how Conroy had just wasted one of his only valuable assets.
Conroy and his pro scouts really clowned you on that trade evaluation, maybe you'd think twice before flying off the handle again, but I guess not.

Can you point out where I said he was a terrible player?
I did say he was a minus player on a powerhouse Devils team. And *check notes* he's still a -13 with the Flames.
I'll admit he has exceeded my expectations, but not by a significant degree. He posted 24 goals previously with the Devils. and with pretty cushy minutes with the Flames is on pace for 29.
Still not thrilled with the return on that trade, though.

Miromanov for 2 years @$1.25 is almost impossible to overvalue. Tweener? Send him down and eat, what, 50k? He may not amount to much, but it is all upside in my view.
Looking at the trade in total, I would have been happier with a first and 2 seconds, but a first, a 2nd/3rd and a project (with no camp dump) is ok. It is fine.

Fair enough, you never called him terrible but you railed on ad nauseum about what an awful return that was and the main reason being Sharangovich was the main piece coming back. You were dead wrong, and Conroy was right to gamble on Yegor. He's produced just as much as Toffoli on a cheaper contract and a younger age with still more team control. Plus they got a pick which their amateur scouts turned into Suniev who is currently excelling at college.
The point is, it was the same thing you're doing in this thread.
I just don't get why someone would even bother with all this if it's only going to make you miserable all the time. Unless you're just miserable in everything you do I guess? Whatever floats your boat.

|
You hadn't even said you saw him play until this post. Someone asked if you had and you said (indignantly) "I watch a lot of Vegas games".
So now he's fine on the third pairing. Great. Flames needed a body there. He's paid accordingly - a salary that can be 100% buried if necessary.

I don't think you're being very charitable in your interpretation of my comments from the Toffoli trade thread. But it's fine.
Quite frankly every post you quoted is still arguably true. I was repeatedly pointing out that Sharangovich, being 25 at the time, was largely a known commodity. This was in response to other posters (if you read these posts in context) who believed he was this up and comer with a high ceiling.
He's still arguably an above average NHL shot attached to an otherwise flawed / one dimensional hockey player. Hope we get something for him at the trade deadline next year.

Yes, I am still of the opinion that it is better to acquire futures if you're rebuilding than to acquire 26 year old depth defencemen. And you might disagree, but I still think I am right about that.

Where did I say I was miserable? I'm saying I think Conroy got an underwhelming return. Believe it or not, this has literally no effect on my mental well being. When this news finally arrived last night I laughed.
Maybe you can not get so caught up in a differing opinion from yours? I can not like something. The world won't end.

They did, they got a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick that might become a 2nd round pick. Those were the key pieces for the future and pretty much the going rate for a rental Dman.
