Again, Conroy found a trade partner willing to risk a lot for this year because his job is safe regardless.
Other GMs and teams are likely to be a lot more cautious.
Keep Hanifin unless the haul is more than this, by at least a roster player. Hanifin I would hold onto, players like him are a lot rarer.
Tanev also should command a premium, as he is good for at least one more year here or anywhere.

He’s one of us now, so I will cheer for Kuzmenko. I like the rest of the trade. Lots of interesting futures pieces

While we're at it, we'd better interrogate all the other players in the Flames' system. I suspect we'd find a lot of guys who believe something that Butterfly disagrees with, and therefore have to run them all out of town.

Showing a lot of pose and patience while waiting for the right opportunity. Seems to have a good read on players. I bet this move is in conjunction with what might be around the corner... Another 1st?

It seems like its Rutherfords M.O. to do deals ahead of the deadline.
Feels like it happens a lot and is likely on purpose as part of his philosophy of integrating players into teams.

Didn't Dion score the game winning goal the last game he played for the Flames. Would be an odd tie in considering Lindholm scored the game winning goal against Chicago.
Edit: he scored the 4-1 goal in a 6-1 win over Edmonton. I remember he scored in that game, just didn't remember if was the winner or not.

There's two of us. About the same percentage of those "losers" in society.
And I'm hardly outraged. If the 2018 sexual assault thread can be overrun by the Flames' first press release on Dube's leave then I'm sure you can suffer through a couple people bringing this up while still being supportive and excited about the trade.

per Rick Dhaliwal, Flames were asking for another 1st for Tanev to be included in this deal.

Alleged sexual assault, you mean? Dube deserves a fair trial. I didn’t compare them in any sense; please review the posts.
This clown did what he did and someone posted the CBC news story. Read that and then ask LGBT fans if they should go buy his jersey and cheer on his goals.

Pretty good return considering the year Lindholm was having. I figured they would get a 1st, a "B" prospect, and lesser prospect, so pretty close. Was hoping for no retention and no bad contract coming back, so the addition of Kuzmenko is a bit of a bummer. Maybe they can turn Kuzmenko into another draft pick or middling prospect. I think that the additions of Brzustewicz of Jurmo fill a gap in the system, so that is a big positive. No bluechip prospects, but fills gaps. The first is going to help if they can turn that into a solid prospect. There's potential here.

This trade his given me confidence the Flames (and Conroy) know what they need to do to right the direction of the franchise. He got the Flames exactly the type of deal they needed. Looking forward to see what else he's cooking up.

Great, we get it. Can we move on now away from the off ice stuff? Like this is a fantastic trade and we want to enjoy it.
