I don't believe his stance matters. If he can score 40 goals, why can't hockey be about hockey? That's my point.

Just a fantastic hockey trade, IMO.

Flames fans have been down on lindholm but he is an excellent and versatile player who will help the Canucks.immensely.

The Flames got a bunch of futures and a guy who maybe finds a home here, or gets traded.

Both teams win and both fan bases should be happy!

To those who thought his value had plummeted and he might return less than Monahan, and maybe only a 2nd... the sad thing is you'll likely be just as negative next time.

And if he keeps playing how he has this year, the pick from Vancouver will get better too!

Probably fits in well in Danielle Smiths Alberta too. I say the Flames let him play on the ice and hopefully he finds his game again and they can move him at the deadline next year for more picks and prospects.

That goal in his final game multiplied his value by 1000%. Good to get a 1st rounder and good prospect it sounds like out of how his season has gone.

Hopefully more dominoes to fall, and this is the start of some more good trades for Conroy.

Question for all:

If you find a haul like this for Hanifin, are you saying yes? Or do you believe he’s more valuable to be kept around for another 8 years?

Please don't ruin the best thread of the season by bringing politics into it. Can we just celebrate the Flames making a trade that helps moves this team in the right direction

Do you think we should welcome Dube back with open arms? Will you bring your kids to the Dome to cheer for him?

I'm unfamiliar with Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, or Jurmo. Draft picks are always exciting, and I'm excited to see what these new guys will bring to Calgary. All the best to Lindholm in Vancouver. If he can shine and make an impact in the playoffs, he could bag a guaranteed 10 million per year.

I think you’re getting more for Hanifin to be honest and if so, make the trade and don’t even think twice about it. Embrace the suck for a few seasons. You will be better off for it.

Because gang-raping a girl is totally the same thing as not wearing the right shirt?

Maybe, but unlike some other players on this team who GAF, it wasn't very obvious that he was putting all his effort in and losing him won't be anywhere near as effective as losing Tanev or Hanifin would be, on ice.

Suddenly through we have a C problem without Dube either.

Then that's where you and I differ.

If hockey is so important to the culture in Canada then it clearly extends beyond what happens on the ice.

I'm not going to write him off totally, but I'm not entirely impressed with having a player so openly resisting an important progressive aspect of Canadian culture.

I keep Hanifin. Players like him are really tough to find.

It's not a great excuse but I am a bit more open to allowing a guy like Kuzmenko who grew up in Russia to maybe change his stance on that or at least maybe hear what he has been told.

This is a guy who moved to North America for the first time 18 months ago and would not have had any real exposure to alternative points of view on the LGTB community. He would have been shown only a very narrow view of what it means.

It's a lot different than guys who grew up in North America or even a guy like Zadorov who has been in North America since he was 17 years old and playing in the OHL.

Kuzmenko is a very good offensive player

Think he puts up a ton of points for you guys, at the least should be movable at next year's deadline, and if hes been getting PP time, it's gonna be a 1st imo

Brzustewicz, has just gone super nova this season in the Ohl

Juormos ceiling is probably number 4/5 d man, but his floor isnt much lower

1st is the 1st

Think it works out for both teams and is only bad for Edmonton, that's a win win
