I kind of wish that Rangers rumor was real. Tanev for Brandon Schneider and Kakko. I'm sure there was more to it but I like Schneider. I'd do Tanev for Schneider straight across.

Blaster is confused.

He thinks the Flames will just unload these guys to them for prices Canuck fan boards deem palatable because there will supposedly be a limited market for guys like Lindholm and Tanev and they wont find better out there so they'll just give up and succumb to the Canucks' demands.

We aren't going to give players away.

We don't need Vancouver's garbage. I'd rather walk Lindholm to free agency.

That'd have to be Lindholm and Tanev

I wasn't saying you were asking for it! I get that's the price for Tanev from the Flames. I just hope the Canucks don't pay it.

I think the Flames will unload these guys for the best deal they get offered. I sincerely hope the best offer for Tanev is not Nils Hoglander.
There will likely be a bigger market for Tanev than there is Lindholm.

No way this is a new regime can't start off like Jay Feaster giving away our best player ever for free.

Took Burke a while to build us back

Yes, letting them walk to UFA definitely the better plan.

…Lindholm is not our best player. He’s not even top-5.

Kadri.
Backlund.
Zary.
Weegar.
Hanifin.
Andersson.
Markstrom.

All better than Lindholm.

Wonder if the Canucks go all in and try to get both Lindy and Tanev.

2024 1st
Hoglander
Kuzmenko (cap dump)
3rd

To me that could work but maybe I’m way off

I'm not all that high on Hoglander. He's fine.

Leads the Canucks with 14 goals at 5v5 with only 11 minutes off ice time and no PP time… I get why Conroy would be interested

Getting Hoglander would mean the end of Mangiapane though

Liked Hoglander from the first time I saw him. Would take him and trade Mangipane in a heartbeat. The position the Flames need the most help at is in the middle. It's one of the reasons I liked the Colorado rumor where the Flames got Johansen as a salary dump. I think he would be a good fit in the middle and buy the Flames some time for them to develop a player or two. Maybe if the Flames could grab Hoglander for Tanev, then move Mangiapane for a center or defense prospect. Team would be further ahead as they could play Coronato in the Mangiapane spot and Hoglander up the lineup. Only downside is the team is getting pretty small, especially when Pelletier returns. If only a couple of these guys could grow four or five inches and put on 20-30 pounds.

Or...we trade Tanev to Vancouver for Hoglander + pick and trade Lindholm to Colorado for the proposed Ritchie/Johansen/1st package.

Then can dump Mangiapane this year for a defenseman, or wait until next year when hopefully he has a bounceback season.

I actually am not crazy about Hoglander. Also don't care for Podkolzin much. Others have said it, but the Canucks don't have much to offer, especially compared to other teams. Their 1st next season and the season after though is enticing. I'd rather grab the 1st's. They can keep their crappy prospects lol.

I doubt you're getting Ritchie from the Avalanche, even if you retain and take Johansen back. If you do, Conroy gets a parade and statue. I think the Flames would probably get back a "B" prospect or two with a 1st and Johansen. If you could turn that into Foudy and Olausson, that would be a great move. Maybe you talk the Avs into kicking in defensive prospect like Hanzel for good measure. Those aren't sexy names, but they all have potential to end up punching above their prospect status and filling holes for the team going forward.

This place is going to burn when lindholm is traded for a second and a fourth, Tanev is traded for a third and resigns in the offseason and hanifin is signed at 7x5
