I can deal with a 1st + Podkolzin and Kuzmenko. It's not ideal IMO as the Flames have enough wingers and a dearth of centers and defensemen. I think the Flames can extract a more apt package that meets their needs more. I was keen on Lekkermakki too until I found out he a winger as well. A crazy sniper winger but a winger nonetheless. That lessened my interest.

Well, he certainly didn't show any of it. He looked like a carbon copy of Jake Virtanen, physical tools and a shot but nothing between the ears. And got plenty of opportunity in the top six and was in the ahl as long as he could. IMO just one of those guys that needed a change of scenery.

No he wasn’t.. he was in his third year of pro. That would be like the Flames giving up on Pelletier or Zary, lol. He led his AHL team in goals and point production as a rookie and then torched the league in his brief stint the second time around. He averaged just 11 minutes a game at the NHL level and paced for over 30 points..

He was exactly the type of high upside player you take a swing on. Guys like Podkolzin and your virtanen example struggle(d) to produce at even the AHL level.

Yeah I get it but at this point I think the flames just need to take best players offered.
I don't expect to be that competitive next season.

Kadri and backlund can be top 6 center stop gaps for next few seasons. Then you rotate in a zary, coronato or honzek into 3c to start getting some reps. Guys like sharangovich, dube or ruzicka can also be rotated in.

Everything equal though I definitely take a center or defense prospect over a winger though.

Comparing Tippett to Zary is just wrong, Zary has shown way more than Tippett ever did with the Panthers. Like how does that even make sense, you think the Panthers would've given up on Tippett if he had played like Zary has?

It was public information that Zito was trying to move him. You don't move a 22 year old first round pick unless he has a) some massive baggage (which Tippett didn't have, he was always a pro) b) or you have tried everything to get him going and are trying to salvage some value before he hits waivers. He showed nothing at the nhl level and was, like I said, pretty much unplayable at that point.

Yet people were already starting to question TIppett's future.

Quote:
Tippett began the season paired with Huberdeau and Bennett as expected, the line put up decent production but nothing earth shattering. Tippett himself put up eight points (3g 5a) in 13 games. When injuries and losing streaks necessitated changes, however, concern for Tippett’s production grew.
When replaced with Reinhart, that line generates an expected goals percentage of 63.1%, compared to 52.1% with Tippett. Replacing Tippett with Duclair gives that line a 57.8% expected goals percentage (Not to mention the insane chemistry between Huberdeau and Duclair that could win Huberdeau a hart trophy, but that is a story for another day.)
Tippett, now playing mostly on a third line centered by Anton Lundell, has managed just one assist in his last sixteen games. His offensive swagger has been nonexistent, and his play driving relies heavily on others.

Daliwal saying the Nucks want Tanev but the ask is and has been for a while, Hoglander.

Edit: If that is the case maybe the Flames are planning to move a winger before all is said and done. Can't see a top nine slot for Hoglander without making room. Although mov8ng Klapka and Coronato back to the farm makes sense too.

I'd do that for Tanev and then trade Mangipane next deadline

The quality of the pick and prospect matter immensely.
If Lindholm can fetch a good package, what stop Conroy from dealing him already?

It’s not like he is producing/helping them now

I think the offers are underwhelming and thanks to Lindholm its not getting better

He was in his third year of pro, but he didn’t make it to the pros until his D+3 season. So the comparison isn’t exactly matching considering Zary is having a bigger impact in his D+4 season than Tippett was having in his D+5 season (when he got traded).

Don't stop there. Hoglander and a pick.

The comparison was simply used to show that nobody is running third year pros with that type of talent out of town. The Panthers situation and desire to push all in made Tippett expendable, not his play.

Don't shoot the messenger lol. These are your guys reporting this lol. Doesn't mean the Nucks will do it. Just that, that's what the Flames are asking for. Division rival pricing homeslice.
