None of us need to like it, but they're not "embarassing themselves".

Sadly, that team is pulling off a great story right now.
13 in a row is 13 in a row, for sure... but...

of those 13 wins, only 3 of them were against playoff teams

Whatever.
They just won their 13th in a row, best player in the world, have salvaged a complete train wreck start to the season. Why wouldn't the media hype them?
Haven't had a Canadian team win a Cup in three decades, and your upset the media is covering the Oilers?
They're just doing their job.
Need to get a grip, I'd say.

They have 26 out of a possible 26 points and we don’t expect that to be a story worth talking about and praising during a post game
show after a win against a division rival? Come on people.

Do you think going back to Edmonton is depressing for the Oilers ? .....I think it was great their vermin fans came out in full force tonight but reality is they have to wake up in Edmonton tomorrow ... I have compassion in my heart for those guys .

Most teams don't win all the games they are expected to.
Not sure you can argue for an asterisk.

I said nothing of the sorts. I just broke down their 13 wins. In fact, I agreed that 13 in a row is an achievement.

It’s also not a story worth talking about on CP in a Flames PGT.

Not sure what Huska has done to be shielded from criticism. He certainly has no track record that suggest he can get the job done. The Flames are worse than last year, and I personally think the way he has them playing is total garbage and maybe worked in Junior hockey but doesn't work in professional hockey.

Personally I find reading Flames fans whining about the panel praising the Oilers to be more embarrassing than the panel talking about the Oilers.

Who cares? They’re a really good team, have the best player in the world, and have won 13 straight. Let the panel talk about them. That’s why the mute button was invented. Turn it off and move on to other things that bring you happiness.

Hard to care when they're that disjointed against a rival.

Of what i caught, that was nowhere even close to how they've played for the better part of two weeks.

Hung Vladar out to dry. Competed after he stood tall for the first frame, but were still hesitant to drive the net and try to take the upper hand in the game. Content with playing for the tie until they were back chasing.

Of all the games it would be nice to pull their #### together for, that's the one.

Back to apathyville after the last two. ####ed by the league then choking tonight.

Time to put hockey on the back burner.

What if the Oilers losing brings me happiness.

So many loose pucks in the defensive zone, especially in the corner, where flames players were infuriatingly passive. The puck would pop loose and every flames player would just hold position and watch while Edmonton regained possession.

Then when we could clear it, which was a struggle against Edmonton’s forecheck, we’d get held up in the neutral zone without many passing lanes.

Oilers just have our number. It was very frustrating game to watch with flames struggling to capitalize on their chances near the net and the oilers getting bounces. Not to mention the abysmal power play.

Coronado struggled mightily and is not a great fit on that line.

They are a team having a hot streak that’s longer than they deserve for the way they are playing right now. They aren’t very good.

Last I checked, MacKinnon isn’t playing for the Oilers.

If you told me McDavid and Draisaitl went pointless and special teams were even I would have predicted a Flames win.

They didn’t deserve it after the horrible first but some good fight back and it sucks to lose on a super fluke pinball goal.

Vladar and Weegar were excellent.

I've asked multiple times what he Flames are doing well under Huska, and listed numerous things I think they aren't doing well. I guess if he is somehow making the goalies play better.

The Flames organization thought hey would make the playoffs, and they are in place to miss. What's the worst that happens if they try a different coach? They get worse and get a better draft pick?

The already hired the assistant Gm and Assistant Coach after talking about making changes. It's not like it's going to be more embarrassing to make a change. Now.

You are actually advocating they change the coach?
Who would even take that job? Who wants to work for a team that fires a coach months into their tenure?
Absurd

...dude, this roster is garbage. Endlessly cycling coaches out provides no value to the team.

How can anyone out there at this stage think that it's okay to roll a roster with no top line forwards and no #1 defenceman.

It's clear as day why this is not a good team. Oh, the Flames thought they were a playoff team? Well, that's generally because they're a poorly run organization and have been for a very long time. They don't know how to assess their own roster. They genuinely seem to believe that just because they're a cap team, they're a good team...they're wrong, and their opinions on their own potential success are meaningless.

Oilers and there crappy cocky fan base are the worst.

I’ll chose to pick a story line.

- peaking early / wrong time
- lucky bounces
- non playoff caliber teams as competition

End of the day these guys are not making it far and next year the thing starts to blow up. Always darkest before the dawn.
