I didn't like the officiating, but I had no issues with the goal being called back.
|
As a fan watching the game I think the issue most of us had was the fact that Toronto was allowed an eternity (including using a timeout) to decide on if they wanted to review something which wasn't obvious. As soon as a goal is scored teams should have a hard time limit of 20 seconds to review it. If it's not obvious after a couple of replays getting the "correct call" really isn't in the spirit of the game.

GOAT!

Still not sure which one is Pinder and which one is Boomer, but the one without the mullet said he texted Huska to ask what he though of Ruzicka and Dube last night... and the response was "Ruzicka played good."

I would be very surprised if a concussion was "a couple of weeks" from the outset.
Each concussion is different from the rest, and recovery time cannot be predicted. The fact the report is "a couple of weeks" leads me to think it is a "normal" injury.

Yes he does.
Ranting and raving all the time is useless, and just becomes noise after a while. But there are times that a coach has to stand up for his players and show some fight and some passion.

Maybe on the “slash” but the no goal call was made by people not in the rink, no?

Likely someone whispered in the Toronto coaches ear and set that whole neat little sequence in motion.

But once he has been fed the info from his video guy, it's in his hands. It was close to 10 minutes from the time of the goal, through the time-out, to the review.

I thought the actual decision was made in Toronto.

Yes, but the poster seemed to want him to rant to the refs about the call, which wasn't made by the refs. Unless your point is about the use of the timeout and the amount of time being spent.

The review call is made by Toronto, yes. But the coach can still influence the refs (going forward), by making a stink. And yes, there was plenty to complain about, with respect to the time-out, and asking for a review after 2 minutes. Huska should also have been on top of the potential touch by the Toronto player. But he just stood there.

Betting it was a neck or back injury. Whiplash maybe.

What record do refs have of being influenced by coaches making a stink? Especially if the stink is made in the media after the game is over? All that does is get the coach fined.

One of my favourite things is when a coach calls out the league in the media. Don't do it all the time, and don't go on a crazy rant, but don't pretend nothing happened either
Almost every time a coach gets fined for it, they have my respect

No one is talking about after the game.
A comment was made, then misquoted, now misquoted further.

It was pretty damn near the end of the game when it happened.
