LOL, serious? The whole D is buttery soft! 2/3 of the D-corpse is JayBo/Butler soft! Cripes, they're in their own zone leaving the goalie at his mercy!
Cool, so was Lindholm, and he wants the org to shell out the big bucks this summer.
There’s nothing wrong with that part of the challenge cording to the rules.
A timeout is not required to initiate a challenge, you just can’t unnecessarily delay the game. They are allowed to call their timeout there, and the challenge just has to be initiated before the play starts again.
You are allowed to challenge calls even after you have already lost a challenge. The penalty for second and following lost challenges is a double minor penalty.
Yes, I'm aware there wasn't anything wrong with the process.
I just disagree teams should be allowed to delay the game with a timeout before initiating a challenge. I'd prefer if teams had a set amount of time to challenge before they lose the option.

How many goals our 3rd our defence was out in Toronto’s top players. Got out coached. Vader had a great night. Mang is painful to watch. Hope poppy is ok

I think they shouldn't have been allow to challenge after the time out, it's like once the puck dropped they can't challenge. But the league clearly wanted the Leafs to win this game.
So if they got to call that why was the thrown from behind the net goal the Preds scored ok?
That was a different kind of play. Different ruling.
Forsberg 100% closed hand on the puck. But that’s a penalty. Not a ‘missed stoppage’. You can’t review a missed penalty. You can’t overturn a goal because of a missed penalty.
So when the review happened for a missed stoppage. They see Forsberg using his glove to put the puck over the net, but Weegar then played the puck to the Nashville player. That playing of the puck negated the hand touch.
There’s a distinction to be made between missed penalty and missed stoppage. Missed stoppage is high stick, puck in netting, glove pass. Not missed puck in closed glove because that’s a penalty.

I copied this in the GT but in case anyone missed it here is the written rule (see below):
To me its pretty clear the wording never says "touched" or "grazes" or "deflected" so this play was not a handpass. If its not allowed to "touch" a players glove just change the wording of the rule to avoid this grey area. Also it has to go to be "passed" to another flames player clearly...
End of day it needs to be 100% conclusive to overturn and there is no way that is 100% conclusive based on their very poorly worded rule book.
9.1 Hand Pass - A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the on-ice officials, he has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team, either directly or deflected off any player or official. For violations related to “closing his hand on the puck”, refer to Rule 67 – Handling Puck. 79.2 Defending Zone - Play will not be stopped for any hand pass by players in their own defending zone. The location of the puck when contacted by either the player making the hand pass or the player receiving the hand pass shall determine the zone it is in. 79.3 Face-Off Location – When a hand pass violation has occurred, the ensuing face-off shall take place at the nearest face-off spot in the zone where the offense occurred, unless the offending team gains a territorial advantage, then the face-off shall be at the nearest face-off spot in the zone where the stoppage of play occurred, unless otherwise covered in the rules. When a hand pass violation occurs by a team in their attacking zone, the ensuing face-off shall be conducted at one of the face-off spots outside the defending team’s blue line in the neutral zone.
The whole being able to challenge a "missed stoppage" but not being able to challenge a missed penalty is so stupid and very NHL.
You can miss a trip that directly leads to goal and not be able to challenge it, but a play like that where a puck glazes off a glove can be challenged.
It should be all or nothing...preferably nothing.

the officiating won't be even and it will just piss me off, these challenges too its hard to ever have excitement, its more relief when they drop the puck and the goal stands
So there you go NHL
One of the biggest Flames fans on earth doesn't want to watch the BOA. I got invited to play shinny and I'm gonna go

4th line and 3rd pair not good enough. Officiating even worse. Pospisil tripped up (no call) and injured. Marquee team vs. Flames. Sounds like a guaranteed loss.

Imo it should be offsides only. And that has to be conclusive to overturn.
If the refs miss it in play, whatever happens is fair game.
I've never stood so firmly by an opinion on the game. You can't have huge goals negated by something that chintzy every other game. It's far too frequent. You can't trust any goal now.
That "Hand pass" was BS. Similar to the Dallas game at the end of Nov, puck was up in the air, and was falling down and grazed the top of Backlund's glove. We score and that was deemed hand pass. Even though kicking motion calls are always debatable, hand passes should be similar, a distinctive play with the hand to direct the puck, not this trash when the puck grazes the glove accidentally, and a goal is scored like 10 secs after

Huska needs to man up on these stupid calls and get upset at the refs. He just sits there quietly and lets it happen, no big deal. Is he afraid to call them on this BS???
