An incident occurred, and he has alcohol problems. He was fired for the incident. They aren’t going to give details about it.

This has more of the halmarks of a Alex Galchenyuk style incident while drunk on the town, minus Alex's DUI element.
I highly doubt anything of physical nature happened, sexual nature or anything that might even be considered potentially illegal. The police would have been notified without a doubt to have the organization do their due dilligence.
This was probably a team dinner, a team event, on the team plane, locker room attendant, security staff or at the team hotel. Workplace incident is the keyword here.
This wasn't some random event at some random place where a disagreement took place during the players personal time.

You're one step behind.
Pretty normal CP progression of posters reacting to people that have a different perspective and turning it into groups with conflicting stances stereotyping one another.
Personally, I'll never stop or feel bad talking about good lifestyle choices. No one has to agree if it's not them. That's cool. You can only lead a horse to water I suppose. But its worth saying. It doesn't mean someone is bad or wrong in exercising their right to live how they want and choosing a different path for their own reasons. That's entirely valid. I wouldn't judge someone for coping through binge drinking or simply enjoying craft beer as a past time. Been in both of those place before.
People who think they're being flexed on and reacting are taking it the wrong way I think. But alas, that's par for CP.

Davidson said that the players did not know the specifics of what happened, so I doubt it was on display for everyone to see.

I respect that Davidson had to do an investigation and privacy is part of this.
But after thinking on this, the fact that Kyle or his many superiors that are supposed to be hands on didn't have the common sense/judgement/understanding to come out right away and deal with the Bedard rumours is actually pretty brutal.
They are false rumours and obviously have nothing to do with the investigation.
If i were Bedard, his family and his agent, I would be deeply upset to the point of questioning whether we are aligned with the Blackhawks.
What a joke organization.

Didn’t they hold a press conference with no other purpose than to deal with the rumours the day after the rumours got traction?
EDIT: actually looking back I think it was the same day

Yes, they did. Then some people complained because they didn't say what actually happened, only what didn't.

Perry was doing a good job, they had no reason why they wanted to get out of the contract.

They actually handled it quickly and exceptionally well. I'm sure Bedard and his family are quite thnkful with how it was handled.

Out of control because the internet is a beast and is undefeated. It was so stupid and nonsensical that I’m sure they immediately dismissed it, like most rational people. Unfortunately, those seemed to be few and far between on this item. So they literally held a press conference for no purpose other than to squash a meme. Same day.
PS I hate the hawks.

It's not like they could be expected to hold a press conference the second one twitter made a post.
They handled it was quickly as one could reasonably expect.
I saw it when the twitter first came out. I chose to not believe it, without further evidence.

I haven't read the whole thread so pardon if this has been mentioned already, but.....
Corey Perry allegedly had an ongoing relationship with a team massage therapist. Over time, she wanted to end the relationship and Perry did not allow/want her to do so. He used his power and control to manipulate the relationship and tried to keep her under his control, so to speak.
This is coming from somebody I know who is connected to a player with inside knowledge. I trust my source, but you don't have to.

Yeah, ESPN had a blurb about it being an issue with a staff member and then scrubbed it. I assumed he got creepy with somebody

I barely get hung over any more from booze, even when I go hard. Hydration, food in the stomach and a minimum number of hours a sleep is key. Worst drug hangover by far for me was MDA. Always had to plan for the next day ahead when I did that stuff. Book the day off, have juice and food stocked, 5-htp within reach, any kind of chores already done, no family problems to deal with, etc. Anyways, good times.

Not to mention, just because 'the internet' is going ham on some dumb rumor, the Blackhawks couldn't go off half-cocked in their response to it. They likely consulted their lawyers, the Bedards and the Blackhawk PR folks, and dealt with it properly.
It's not like the Blackhawks could have just tweeted out "Nuh uh!" or something. Rando's on the internet can spout off whatever they want, a business has to be more careful about it. Especially with something as easy to damage as a reputation.
