I think Calgary is already rounding a corner after needing a few weeks to shake off the Sutter cobwebs, and has a much less deep hole rn.
Whereas Edmonton looks like a drunk man staggering through the Sahara desert.
Even if the Oilers find their confidence and fix one of the myriad of problems going on there, it'll take them a few more games for that improvement to actually turn into wins imo. By that point the hole is too deep.

Markstrom is 50/50
You can get a Vezina candidate or another Campbell
The thing is they are running out of time with McDrai. Markstrom is still a much better option than what they have and nobody is going to give them a good cheap goalie

NYI getting more desperate by the minute.
They are getting caved in on the 2nd and 3rd LD pairing, but can't send bolduc down without waivers. They also have anders Lee struggling mightily, with 3 years left on a 7M per year hit.
If you wanted a jump start on a rebuild, taking Lee with retention for Hanifin, would get a boatload out of Lou.
