I'm looking at it from a toned down "what would Murray want" perspective. And, I think Murray wants as streamlined risee to the playoffs as possible .
I know full well whats up in the top ten but I think Detroit wants to be there or move that for Debrincat.
At least from the angle I'm postulating it works for all parties involved.

I would asssume 20-22 year old prospects, probably in the AHL.

Easily imo. Toffoli at 2.125 is probably worth more than that too.

Players 1-2 years into the league.

Honestly, if you knock it out of the park with those 3 trades, plus sucking next year. After next years draft, you would probably be looking to slowly get competitive already.

Having such a weak free agent class combined with how big of an arms race the East seems to be is really going to help with these returns.

As for the prospects, Nikishin is locked into his KHL deal until 2025, so he’s isn’t “not too distant.” Morrow would be a nice get, but I doubt Carolina want to deal their top prospect. So you’re probably looking at Rees (21), Gunler (21), or Honka (22). Maybe two of the above.

And Brindamour apparently loves Elias.

Some of the craftier veteran GMs probably see Conroy's effusive personality as being overly eager, and are willing to sit back and play a bit of rope-a-dope.
We are about to find out how shrewd the guy is.

The returns that Conroy could fetch for:
- Lindholm
- Hanifin
- Toffoli (50% retained)
- Backlund (50% retained)
- Tanev (50% retained)
Would act as the backbone for an entirely new build of the Calgary Flames. I don't think retention is as important on Lindholm and Hanifin, because the teams that I'd expect to be targeting players like that (and going after long-term extensions) have the cap space available this year to easily swallow their sub-$5M salaries.
Maximizing returns on Backs, Toff, and Tanev though would be to ship those guys to contenders on the brink (Leafs, Rangers, Canes?) where they're likely looking to minimize salary intake at all costs.
This is why I hope Conroy does it this Summer. This is the tear down Summer in my eyes and provides us the shortest path to a new beginning.
Summer 2023: Rip down.
Season 2023/2024: No significant adds, trade off bits at the deadline, maximize your own 2024 1st round pick
Summer 2024: Do whatever. You want to go right back to spending like a mad-man in free agency? Fine...but at least we restocked in in 2023/2024.

20th overall for a 50% retained Toffoli is absolutely fair, if not SEA needs to add more. That is a huge amount of value. Toffoli is legit and consistent.

Maybe if the UFA market was like last summer..
But there are very few top 4 D and good centers available and both these guys have cap friendly salaries that can also be retained.
I think it's the perfect storm for the Flames to get somewhere in the ballpark of fans desires on the returns.
Given the rumored interest so far I think they could corner the market on teams looking to add at those two positions.

Kasper is only 19 years old and easily could play wing, he is listed there on many sites already.
if Detroit wants to start winning easily can fit Lindholm in at center with the young kid starting out on the wing. If he ends up surpassing Lindholm or Larkin both those guys have played wing as well in their careers.

This makes me think it’s Carolina. 30th overall + Seth Jarvis + 62nd overall.
The picks are late… but Jarvis is a very good young player who looks ready to pop. First two years in the league he has put together back-to-back 40 point seasons and looked awesome in the playoffs. He plays centre and I think would be a great fit with Huberdeau.

I doubt Edvinsson is on the table. He's a foundational piece for them. And they have other assets they can bundle together.
Beggren is perhaps a guy that fits the "not too far away" insight.

Probably more shrewd than many think. I personally think that the engaging personality hides a very smart mind...and he's got some good advice coming from others as well. He didn't seem pleased at Tre's approach at all...so suspect we'll see a very different manner of attack.
