He's gambling right now.

Conroy has a handful GMs awaiting his phone call on Elias.

Hatti B's this afternoon... No more Jack.
Tried to nail down the team.. It's not Columbus.

I’m guessing Carolina. They asked about Lindholm at the deadline. And they’re one of the few teams that can take on substantial cap without sending any back.

As for the prospects, Nikishin is locked into his KHL deal until 2025, so he’s isn’t “not too distant.” Morrow would be a nice get, but I doubt Carolina want to deal their top prospect. So you’re probably looking at Rees (21), Gunler (21), or Honka (22). Maybe two of the above.

Agreed. Hence why every one of these deals should see Calgary offering to retain 50% for the next season if they aren’t being traded with an extension already in place.

The exponential value of a Hanafin, Lindholm, Backlund and Toffoli at a 2M-ish salary should be more than enough to help any team fit them into their current cap structure.

Big opportunity for Conroy here, hopefully he’s using every chip available.

The ask is Blue Chip + 1st at a minimum, I doubt there will be a lot of "B" prospects if he's traded.

It could be Carolina with a Necas + 1st rounder package.

I don't think this is right. The information I have heard is that the hold up is negotiating a contract extension on at least one of the players for a sign and trade (or at least for a trade with an extension already negotiated through the agent). I got the impression that there is a lot of interest and the Flames know what they want... didn't get the impression at all that other GMs were lowballing a rookie (also with Don Mahoney on the calls I doubt GMs would even bother).

Reading between the lines, I think the players that do not want to extend here are behaving in a similar vein to Tkachuk because they have positive relationships with Conroy and the rest of management, so there is a cooperative effort to maximize return and to move these players to teams that they are comfortable with.

While that sucked for the franchise that those moves weren't handled well, Tre was left with what he was left with to start, he missed out on the pressure of handling the moves with players wanting out, and the sharks circling to take advantage of our situation.

This time around, I'd say the moves have the potential for even higher stakes for Conny, the issues are more public, there are more of them, and he's brand new. Literally can't think of a tougher spot to be in. He's going to need patience, and we are going to need patience with him and this situation as well.
I always like to find Calgary / Buffalo parallels since they're my two favorite teams, and this is another one. Kevyn Adams came in a rookie GM to a tenuous room with multiple core players wanting out, and then six months of Eichel drama. Similar situation (though obviously not quite Eichel-scale) -- he was able to make three really good trades that set the franchise on a path forward. Really interested to see what Conroy does this week and in the coming weeks.

Don’t get too cocky Conroy! I wonder if it is the Rangers then. Lindholm would be a great fit on the bruins as well but they don’t have much that is enticing

Detroit would be my guess too.

Have some good young pieces but didn't really get that top C through the draft. Made a commitment to Larkin that they would try to win.

Have 2 1sts this year, 3 seconds this year, and 2 1sts next year.

They have some interesting pieces, although they seem to be more 2-3 years futures, but are they good enough that Lindholm would want to commit to 8 years there if he has concerns with the Flames?

So glad you are here to make those with high expectations and hopes for the coming week feel bad about themselves if they feel disappointed.

If the return is higher just trade them to which ever team possible. No need to think about the players' preference.
