You can play through a broken foot. You aren't playing through a torn oblique.
Do you honestly believe he was playing with 2 dislocated shoulders too?

Chris Butler with the Cup, even though he only played 13 regular season games and no playoff games that season...

I say go all out. Soak your head in water before you grab the cup, make it look like you played 30 minutes.

I saw another Tweet clarifying his shoulder popped out twice during the playoffs. It wouldn't feel great, and is obviously compromised until it is rehabbed or repaired surgically, but not as hardcore as it was first made to sound.

That's the best the NHL had to offer for a cup final. Yeesh ... shades of La vs NJ. Not a great final.

Yes, I believe he played with 2 dislocated shoulders.
I use to be sponsored by a small company called 1664 bmx . I use to get ####ed up all the time. . Pop the shoulder back in and hit your video spot. That was for peanuts in pay and free product. A multi millionaire will play for are.

Popping a shoulder for the first time and then playing the next game would be horrible, but doable with loads of tape and drugs. Obviously would effect performance significantly.
Popping the same shoulder again would still be a big deal but far less than the first time.
Nobody thought his shoulders were literally out of socket while he was playing. Did they? That’s not possible.
I may or may not have extensive experience with this particular injury, he’ll get it repaired and be fine

I think the confusion is that it sounded like he had both shoulders injured. I believe the clarification was that the same shoulder popped out twice during the playoff run, which is almost expected if it already happened once.
I had 8 dislocations before my surgery. It happened many times while playing hockey, and it got easier and easier to pop out (once while I was sleeping, once while putting my shirt on).

Probably too much information, but I popped my shoulder out once while wiping my butt. Good story for the grandkids now.
After the first dislocation I figured out how to pop it back in, and the pain was never as bad as the first time, nor did the strength fully return. After popping it out probably once a month for the next 4 years afterwards, I really avoided movements that would make the shoulder dislocate, and it actually got better and strong again without surgery. Still never full but when my name came up for surgery after several years of waiting I decided it wasn’t worth it at that point anymore.

Credit to Vegas, they made the Panthers look like the team Leafs fans were chanting for.

And this is why as a team like the Flames you don't actually want to make your blueprint around being the next Florida, where you ride good vibes and rainbow farts into the finals, only to have your true colours shine through and a couple injuries do you in and lose in heartbreaking fashion, knowing that you're not actually built to repeat the feat any time soon.
I'd rather be a Boston where you have the foundation there to get several kicks at the can over the span of a decade or more.
"Get in and anything can happen" is a #### philosophy to hang your hat on.

Use Lightfoot in a highlight reel, and Lightfoot will steal the reel.
I don't like to give SN credit for much, but that editor did a great job.

I guess the guy that was in the dressing room with Tkachuk was right about the injury.
Playing with a broken sternum is crazy.

Also sounds like Tkachuk was relatively healthy through the Toronto series, up until the hit vs VGK

That series was not even close.
Must be nice being a Knights fan. 6 years in existence and you've already crowned yourself champion, 2 SCF appearances, 4 conference finals appearances, and a good team for years to come. Eichel, Pietrangelo, and top end wingers that are going to keep them competitive for a while. As an attractive UFA destination, they are becoming the Rangers of the West where they will never have problems signing players. They will be able to sign them to reasonable deals which is actually something NYR can't brag about. It's going to be a while before they actually rebuild. The only way they would is if they were forced to by a very good division. Can't say the Pacific is a "strong division", yet.

I'm not sure we should be that surprised as McPhee assembled some very talented Capitals teams and did a masterful job of fleecing several GM's into handing him over some of the more talented young players in their organization for practically nothing other than the threat that they may pick an unprotected player. Seriously go back and take a look at some of those trades that teams made. It's comical how bad some of those trades were. I've always felt that a large portion of NHL GM's are not good at their jobs, unqualified to run professional teams and that expansion draft did nothing to change that. If you hire a GM that's proven to be competent at building good teams you already have a leg up on 20+ teams and that's what happened here.

Flames moved to Calgary in 1980; appeared in the SCF in 1986 and won in 1989. Just for comparison.
