A lot of redemption.
Marchessault over the Panthers.
Cassidy over the Bruins.
Eichel over the Sabres.

I can't stand Ron McLean and never thought anyone would get close to him, but David Amber is making his run at it.

Paul Maurice just said during these playoffs, Aaron Ekblad broke his foot (happened during the Boston series), dislocated his shoulder twice, and tore his oblique. Unbelievable.

So Vegas was able to accomplish in 6 years what the Flames have been unable to for the last 34 years and counting, fml.
You might expect an expansion team winning the Cup would have done so on the basis of the draft, but it's amazing to see that Nic Hague is the only real Vegas-drafted contributor on the roster. That's impressive.
Congratulations to them.

They haven't had enough rope to really hang themselves yet. Starting from scratch is a lot easier than trying recover from years of mismanagement.

Also just shows how big of a weapon cap room can be, and Vegas took advantage of that in their first season or two to stockpile assets, which then helped then build the team once they unexpectedly were great from day 1.
Treliving's biggest fault as Flames GM was that he seemed to always feel the need to spend to the cap the second he could.

I wonder which goalies will get their names on the Cup?
Hill, obviously. I believe Quick qualifies since he was dressed as the backup throughout the Final, even though he didn't play. Thompson didn't play enough regular season games before his injury, but he should still qualify when games dressed are counted, and injured players are often given approval. Brossoit didn't play enough regular season games and didn't dress in the Final, so he doesn't automatically qualify, but given he won 5 games including all 4 in the first round, I'd think he'll get on there too.
I wonder what the highest number of goalies with their names on the Cup in a season has been?

haha, Phil. Did anyone else who didn't play get fully geared up to go on the ice after the game? Seems like a weird flex from a guy who was scratched since the first round.
