Yeah but just imagine how much freedom and liberty these people will have with a UCP government, they won't be oppressed with things like quality public healthcare and Canadian Pension Plans. Those are tools of the socialist devil.

Yeah I got an orange sign. As for convincing them, it was a waste of time as they all hate Notley.

UCP supporters would rather watch this province burn to the ground than vote anything other than blue - TBA, christofascist policies, right-wing extremism, deplorable fiscal management, social regression be damned.

I convinced 3 undecided coworkers to vote NDP in the past 10 mins. I want a cookie!

It is difficult to paint the NDP as anything but a huge underdog.

Like most leftists movements, I think The Kids will end up being the decider here.
Considering home ownership numbers for those under 40, Blue Lawn Signs don't really point to much other than boomers wanting to maintain the status quo.

It's been that way the entire time. I'm surprised anyone was truly giving the NDP a shot. If I'm wrong I'll be very pleasantly suprised, but I don't think it will be that close. I would imagine closer than last time though.
Alberta is going to be an absolute mess under Smith/Jean. Let's be honest, Brian Jean is going nuts on twitter pushing Smith because he knows that she's not going to last and he'll likely take over.

I think those numbers posted above in that tweet are very telling for conservatives going forward (and not in a good way). Right now though, we're in a phase where Boomers are making 'one last stand' to enforce their way before the younger generations take over completely. They are protecting, what they perceive, as the traditional conservative (Alberta) way of life and their assets as well. Unfortunately they're motivated to vote, and younger people are less so.

In response to Girlysports,
The UCP changed the designation of what is considered 'rural' to work in a medical field in Alberta. It used to be that a doctor can receive a slight premium for working outside of an urban setting, but a large part of the province that used to have this premium was removed. This was when the UCP arbitrarily decided to declare war on doctors and nurses as a retaliation for a perceived slight at some point.
A lot of doctors left towns outside of Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge because it was no longer an advantage to work there. There is a pretty big shortage, but an influx of doctors into Calgary and Edmonton as a result. Some doctors just left the province altogether, though.

And that's pretty much this election in a nutshell:
The UCP broke something, and now they're campaigning that we should forget they broke it and trust them to fix it.

Brian Jean will never be leader. He's had over a decade of thinking "OK, this is finally my chance!" just to be sidelined by everyone when he thinks he is close. He's a perpetual loser who will carry tankards of water for people he despises under the delusional fantasy that he's next in line.
If Smith goes, it's becuase she wasn't crazy enough, and a full on Christo-facist is going to be next up. This is probably the bigger danger than Smith being in charge.

Yeah if Notley's actually elected, they'll be cementing all operating wells basically the following day, or even the night of the election.
Do you want to ruin Alberta?!
