Advance polls open today and you don't need to go to the one specifically in your riding. I'm hoping I can take advantage in order to avoid the crowds on election day itself.
YEG has a polling station in the terminal, that is a fantastic idea. Have not heard if YYC is doing the same but that's a bit of a miss if they didn't.

Is there a site showing where these are located.

And then there's the family doctor discussion tht NDP is hammering on. Most people already have a family doctor and once they lose one, it's not hard to find another. At least it wasn't for me. I had to find a new one earlier this year and so did my kids. I had the option of about 4 different ones. Is this a city problem? A rural problem?

I'm going to suggest this is an exception not the rule.
Can we also talk about lab services?
I have had to wait 2 months for routine lab work for my old guy physical. Lab services are a fail that lays at the feet of the UCP.

I don't think the NDP have done a good job of countering the key points in the UCP campaign.
- UCP keep bringing up the poor economic conditions during the NDP term. Informed voters know that was nothing to do with the NDP but the association will resonate with people that lost their jobs.
- UCP are campaiging on cutting taxes and have talked about legislation to prevent future tax increases, while NDP actually had the guts to include a (corporate) tax increase in their platform. I think the latter is better long-term policy and the UCP approach sets us up very poorly for the next oil price collapse, but some voters will be focused on their wallet today vs longer term.
The NDP need to focus on convincing undecided voters they can be responsible economic managers.

This is why I asked is this a city or rural problem? Or what part of town? I'm in the West. I got in at Blue Diamond Clinic in Coach Hill. Male and female doctor both taking patients right now. Then there's the big new clinic down on Bow Trail and 45th, Bow Trail Medical who have multiple doctors excepting patients last I called in March. And there are some downtown doctors excepting patients as well. Call around.

We can certainly talk about lab services. Is it really that worse than before. I remember for years that I would book a month or two ahead and then refresh continually for cancellations. People often cancelled same day early in the morning. If i was lucky, I'd grab one of those and go right away. Are walk-ins worse? I've never done walk-ins to be honest. I was at Market Mall last week (an appointment I booked 1 month ago) and I had to wait 30 minutes, so that part is a bit worse. But i do like the new electronic board. I don't know how bad it is on the staff side of things.

It depends where you live. Even in the city certain areas are easier than others, while some might not mind driving to get to their doctors for others it creates a barrier.

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who would say it hasn’t gotten worse.

Even just fixing the booking website so you can view available appointments at multiple locations would make it better, but for some reason that’s too complicated to do.

That does suck. I do like the wait times displayed on the left. Anyone try to virtual checkin?

Sure, but their regret doesn't make it any better for us. Watching them eat crow doesn't help us any. They need to figure this #### out before the election.

It's a rural problem here in High River and Okotoks. Good luck finding a doctor here.

As someone who gets blood work done on a semi regular basis it is a lot worse. Walkins can work if you're prepared to wait upwards of 3 hours or more. Also, getting a cancellation works if you're lucky enough to find one. Booking a time is an exercise in frustration as the site is often booked 2 months in advance.
