Pointed out in another post that it looks like they did just that ... adjusted.

Then you would be an idiot to renew your season tickets. I mean you would have to pay me to attend a game watching this kind of hockey....

Personally I think you're confusing big picture with an almanac.

We have different definitions of winning. That seems to be the disconnect.

Actually, I don't think it was directed at Tre, Edwards or us...I think it was directed at the TEAM.
If the stories of dissension in the ranks are to be believed, maybe that's why.

That I can understand. Sadly, I gave up my seasons some years back when I moved to BC...if I were still an STH, I'd quit this year (never to return, though....maybe. Tix were available in 2005-06 IIRC).

I think it could have been directed at Tre.
Huberdeau, Kadri, and Ritchie were the three forward additions this season.
Those are the three that shot.

Taking a while to get to 5000

The scary/sad part may be that Sutter had this plan in his head if the game got to a shoot out. Ritchie was shooting no matter what (if needed)

Aside from Backlund, every forward is a Treliving addition though. And I guarantee Sutter was asked about all those additions anyway. Like he was against getting Kadri or Ritchie?

man is insane if he sacrificed the season (even if it was likely already lost) to send a message to the GM

He has been sending a message to someone all season not sure why it is would surprising he did it again last night.

Definitely. But I don't think Sutter was directing it at him, I think it was directed at Treliving: the season is on the line, down to a shoot-out, and who does he send out? Huberdeau, Kadri and Ritchie - 3 guys that Treliving acquired this year.

I feel like he might have been sending messages to the GM and owner all season to be honest.
It's purely hypothetical but I honestly feel like Sutter has coaching trying to get Treliving fired all season.

Ritchie was the only real "off the board" pick though. Huberdeau's a no-brainer, Kadri is supposed to be this clutch scorer despite his season. The rest of the team is kind of just not fancy. I mean, Backlund was as good a choice as any IMO.
Ritchie - I think it was Sutter just going with his gut, which is a mistake.

The way they lost to the bottom feeders really showcase what this team is made of. You can blame Markstrom or Huberdoll or Lucic all you like but the reality is this is a bad team all and all. If not for Toffoli’s tremendous efforts we would be in a Bedard lottery pick. They beat some good teams occasionally (once in a full moon) but they are as bad as some of the bottom feeders if not worst. I think all the OT loser points masked the real issue with this team.
Let’s bring up the Wranglers next season!

Kadri was 1/5 on the season and all but quit on the team down the stretch.
Backlund is a career 1/13 in the shootout. He's not, and never will be a good selection in such situations.
Ritchie has 6 career attempts and just two goals during his 9 year career for a reason.
Toffoli was 1/2 on the year and our most clutch player all season.
Rasmus was 2/4 on the year.
Lindholm didn't get a single opportunity in the shootout all year.
There really is no defending those choices, and Darryl's quote that those selections really had "no bearing" on the outcome says everything you need to know.

Markstrom shoulders his share of the blame for all of the Chicago losses and one of the losses to the Habs and Ducks. And the one loss to AZ. Not the Columbus loss - he was .923, and not the loss in Montreal - he was .974. He was also good in all 3 losses to Nashville and beat Winnipeg 2 out of 3.

Ritchie literally scored on Saros in a shootout earlier this season. I can live with that pick. It’s the Kadri and Backlund picks that I don’t like.
I don’t see what Kadri has done to deserve to be in that position and Backlund has never been good in the shootout.
Lindholm, Toffoli, and Mangiapane- our three best goal scorers don’t get a sniff.
