The kid was also born in St. Albert. I'm sure they'd love a hometown boy with term. I believe Klefbom and Murray are also finally coming off contract at the end of this year (after being on LITR).

Not a prediction, just seems thats the way Flames season has gone. When you think you know what they are they surprise/disappoint you.

I’m not fully buying Friedman’s rumour. There haven’t been any murmurs the past few weeks on the Flames doing anything. Has anything changed the past few days? Was there a straw that broke the camels back? I’m thinking they stay the course and keep the team as is. If anything they’ll sell high on a 3rd or 4th liner but I bet they stay the course to see how the playoffs looks. Stupid move if that’s the case but I don’t think ownership wants to give up the chance of playoff revenue.

Parayko, if healthy, may actually be the best out of that group. However, that's such a big if, and probably the only reason he is available at this point. He's had a lot of ongoing back issues that have significantly impaired his abilities, and at this point he's a fraction of the player he was.

Pretty sure I saw a capfriendly tweet debunking that myth. Once a contract is signed it gets retention throughout even if it hasn’t taken effect.

A lot of Trelivings moves have come out of nowhere. Barely any smoke on the Hamilton one. Even the Tkachuk trade wasn’t with the expected dance partner. Although, I would be surprised if much of anything happened as well

Retain on his current deal and full hit next year. Flames could do the same with Weegar and Huberdeau
