May be hold on Pelletier, Vladar and Andersson and Tanev.
But don't just trade somebody for nothing.
They should be actively shopping everyone, but in particular Lindholm, Zadorov, Toffoli, Lucic should be gone at the deadline.

No one is taking Markstrom.

I would welcome a series against the Oilers.

This is a team that needs to play perfect hockey to win. Even against the bottom feeders.

I'm just trying to come to terms with it all.
again its not optimism...I was explaining why the playoff odds are still high (not my odds)

Minny has lost to the Yotes and got pounded by Dallas and Vegas since the ASB

Do you think their fans are optimistic about the playoffs? somebody will make it by default

Yeah would have been interesting to know what the discussion was behind closed doors with ownership.

They were handed the perfect opportunity to tear it down, but I doubt it was ever really an option for BT.

Gaudreau walks, Tkachuk wants out. Mangiapane is an RFA. Lindholm, Hanifin, Tanev, Toffoli, Backlund all have 2 years left. Lucic upcoming UFA.

Honestly you move those 8 guys over this season and next and you're probably set up with the best combination of picks/prospects in the NHL. Really though outside of Huberdeau / Weegar it is still an option. Just means you have a couple of contracts in Huberdeau, Weegar, Kadri that would carry over through a rebuild.

Ugh. So many other Western teams lost tonight. Out was a great chance to make up a couple of points against a bottom feeding team..... One goal.

I have no specific observation to add other than that was a brutally unskilled game.

My condolences to HockeyNinja and Cowboy 89 for having to sit through that live.

Awful hockey from start to finish by both teams.

Agree. But I still remember last year. And we're worse this year. I'd rather lose to anyone but.

Fire Sutter. And this team will look much different next year (with same players).

Sutter kills creativity.

Something I meant to say before the game, but listening to the pregame show on 960 with Wills and Loubardias... You would be hard pressed to believe this team is on the outside looking in.

Never really seen this before in Calgary. Just very odd.

The entire team other than Lucic, Lewis and stone are under contract next year.

Such an exciting franchise.

How amazing would it be to see the flames actually do something smart and actually sell this deadline.

Edwards could have put the Huberdeau and Weegar $ towards the new arena. But then again, what's the point if you're going to suck? Can just as easily suck in the old building.

I will go to the Philly game, Vegas game, and then Bruins game and Calgary will win all 3. Boom.

Why would anyone think this team is a playoff team when the players don’t believe it themselves

Ouch Dino’s optimism is down to: lots of teams suck in the west and somebody has to get in, why not us?

Because of the large amount of bonuses, we would save $7.5M of the $84.5M owed to him.
