I wonder how much preseason predictions still count into this as well.

think they need to do a Hartley and bench the top players for a game

when the team wins because of it, they'll feel shame

No worries. Strength of schedule is gonna save this team. Oh wait, they've lost to three of the worst teams in the league in three of the past five games. On the bright side, we're closing in on 10 points out, so we might see some of the kids from the AHL sooner than later.

Flames just barely ahead of Nashville for 10th in points percentage. This team can not afford any kind of losing streak at the moment so better get at least one win before the road trip ends Monday.

The need to stop playing hard and start playing good.

I’ve given up on this season. Even if this team squeaks into the playoffs they have zero chance to do anything at all. Just a complete throw away season.

Truth is all they have to do is outplay the Wild who have a hard schedule and look terrible coming out of the ASB

Odds have a lot to do with their competition

You think Wild fans are positive after losing to the Yotes and then getting pounded twice more this week

Somebody is gonna make it

Oh yay this is our hope now? Outplay the wild and get into eighth? I see you’re giving up on actually finishing top three in the division. Real exciting season first round loss and lesser draft pick.

players that have what it takes but don't choose to apply themselves are the saddest cases

you can't make someone want it though. they have to do that part

Devastated that they lost lol

Tough game for the flames. Wings and flames are in the same tier of team.

Why scrubs like Huberdeau, Lucic even get ice time in games like these?

I am excited to hear more of ‘glass half full’ guys talk down to folks who realize this team blows. Get those Pom Poms out guys, have at it

They will never ever try this, but I would love to see them go with

Huberdeau Ruzicka Lindholm
Mangiapane Backlund Coleman
Dube Kadri Toffoli
Pelletier Zary Lewis

Not much difference in 5 on 5 time between the 4 lines under Sutter anyway so Zary and Pelletier would get minutes and Lewis is the only old man 4th liner the Flames have that has looked half decent on that 4th line. Huberdeau gets two shooters on his line, maybe that works.

I never said it's the hope...it's the reality of why the odds are where they are

I wouldn't reward Rosie for that controller disconnect

The Flames will finish 4th in the Pacific and get the Oilers in the first round, that will be a proper ending to this season.

Meh, with Sutter it is always given never earned. Rosie is too young to be in that category though, that is his problem.

It was obvious to everybody that this team should have rebuilt this summer. Instead, ownership and management went the complete opposite direction.

To me, that is beyond concerning. Who cares if they fire BT. Nothing will change.

It's going to be a long 8 years.

Man. I'd way rather miss playoffs than go through a repeat of last year. N

I admire your optimism. This season has zapped mine. I've been hanging on to the possession correction and bounces evening out for too long.

The optimist in me sees a team that can hang with the best of them and control the play. But the realist sees a team that continues to finds ways to lose games that they "should" win. How many times have they out shot a team 2-1 this year and lost?

This is a team that needs to play perfect hockey to win. Even against the bottom feeders.

I'm just trying to come to terms with it all.
