Huberdeau looked great yesterday as well. Should have had a pair of assists.
He also rushed the puck up ice and you could see Tampa collapsed when he came at them with speed so that part he has to his game it just hasn't been flashed as much.
Dude, the main boards and GDT since that oilers game got me like

Where do I even start? I’ll just limit my thoughts to one question, why can’t we play in Alberta anymore?

Edmonton fans really still commenting about the refs in a game thread where they aren’t even playing lol pathetic

McDavid gets LeBron calls on both ends so I won't ever feel bad for them.

I find it ironic how EDM fans call out TB fans for being bad when I haven't seen a fan base go out of there way more than EDM to talk ####. I have seen so many posts from them on TB forums in the past two days just to call us out.

I’d love to see those posts lol. Maybe Colorado, both are good teams with a golden child/duo that cry like babies and have equally child like fanbases that make them insufferable to try and even chirp with

I'm glad Lucic has been useless for years because that man was f***ing terrifying to play against in his prime.

Terrible goal to give up. Vasy has to have that. Looks like a well deserved loss unless.something changes quickly

Also, yet another game giving up 3+ goals. It's much worse in that regard to this point(in terms of games played) than any of the previous 3 seasons.

It's gotta be demoralizing. 11 goals...teeth kicked in.

Cooper, for the love of all that is blue and white and wears the number 88, do not pull the goaltender with more than two to go. You have amazing players, who can do amazing things.

One of the more frustrating games in recent memory. 0-6 PP. The only thing to come out of tonight is a strong sports hate for Calgary. As soon as they signed Kadri I figured that was a likely scenario. He's definitely top 3 POS active players. Good news = regular season means NOTHING
Quote:
Does anyone think one day coop is gonna pull a goalie for an entire period? Just to see if we can remember to block the pick once in a blue moon and stop relying on the goalie?
What kind of nutsack would throw a Vasi jersey on the ice, the man who delivered 2, nearly 3 cups to you on a silver platter you ungrateful f***s

Ah yes, roughing on Perry for hitting his face viciously in the boards. And an extra 10 because Tampa gets all the calls.

SO THE REF IS GOING TO IGNORE THE BOARDING?!!
Quote:
I really expected to see Cooper lose it on the refs for Perry being held doen with a knee on his back.. wtf?

Why did the ref not call that cross check and then why did he just let him stand there pinning Perry down?
Refs ignoring that kind of stuff is what leads to dangerous plays and nasty games.

Absolutely, then a whole bunch of guys who ended up in Europe and the KHL. The error bars on a prospect like Pelletier are still really big. No need to pile on undue pressure by having media and fans compare him to the list you just assembled. It won’t help him get there any faster.
Most of the guys who end up in Europe put those numbers up in their mid 20’s. The guys recently 21 or under who put up those type of totals include:
John Peturka - on a 35 point pace in his rookie year in the NHL at the age of 21.
Jonathan Berggren - on a 44 point pace as a 22 year old rookie in the NHL
Jack Quinn - on a 41 point pace as a 21 year old rookie in the NHL
Matias Macelli - on a 60 point pace as a 22 year old rookie in the NHL.
There are busts like Tyler Benson, but for the most part if you put those type of numbers up at the AHL level you end up being productive at the NHL level. The guys who end up in Europe are the guys who are in their mid 20’s.

He has nobody to flash that part of his game to play with. My recollection of him in Florida was hitting the zone with speed, playing with two other fast forwards and making amazing passes east/west. That is the combo for that guy.

Fair point, and my wording should have probably been "promising, but not a sure thing" instead of "middling". The rest of my point is the same, regardless. I hope this was a bumbled attempt by Sutter to be snarky with a reporter he doesn't like, and trying to keep the expectations tempered for a young guy just getting his start and nothing more.
Let me guess... you're probably a police officer, a fire fighter, or work in Oil and Gas.
Because I highly doubt you made it anywhere as an athlete either.
But you certainly give off that hazing is good, people are snowflakes, and if you're not a "manly man" you're useless vibe that lives in those industries.
Yikes some serious generalizations in that response.
Almost as needlessly personal as the person you're replying to.
I'm in oil and gas, and not the prick you describe. Some pretty noble police and fire fighters out there. There are aholes in every profession.
I never understand the Francis hate. I wonder if some people even formed their own opinion on him or just jumped on the hate bandwagon cause its the popular thing to do around here. Like the guy saying Francis would keep players from signing here and the post gets a bunch of likes. Like are you kidding me? LOL thats up there for one of the dumbest things Ive read on here. There is zero chance any player or propsect would do that.
Guess some people just want fluff pieces and the Derek Wills kind of stuff. I mean I dont agree with everything Francis says but least hes not afraid to call stuff out. Hes right more than hes wrong and people just hate to admit it.

That's true.
If the coach gives that line a,solid winger I think they take off.
I think the generational gap thing is true with Sutter and what he belives. His church reference last year never got flak either trying to paint Alberta with one brush.
The world is different and people need to adapt especially leaders. He has millennial kids so he might be able to form relationships with them a bit easier but it's still hit or miss but I think with 2000 kids coming into the league he will have hard time with the new batch of kids.
We saw it with Vali his play was terrible but we don't know what was said behind closed doors etc and he comes out and says he needed some positive reinforcement.
You can call someone out but embarrassing people in the public usually doesn't work anymore. Telling your players to put on dresses may have worked in 2004 but it's 2023 now you need to change.

You’re going to have to provide more details to that one.

Positive reinforcement got Valamaki all the way to fringe NHLer on the worst team in the league!
