WTF, I literally came here to post this gear grinder.
The last 5 or 6 times I grab a couple things from the car, I get my hands full and realize that out of right and left coat pocket and right and left pants pockets, there's one pocket that I can't reach to and that's where the keys are.

It seems a bit of a stretch to have multiple appointments every month. Who has 24-36 doctor, dentist etc appointments a year?
Even if you have sickly children that is a lot.
I suspect the numbers OP provided are exaggerated or they really are a bad employee. Those numbers are whack.

Me? Last year it was something like 46 - all medical.
Four with GP to start. Throw in a half a dozen specialists, some physiotherapy, a dentist, some lab work and diagnostics, nurse practitioners, two surgeries - It's a goddamn full-time job.
But try explaining that to an unsympathetic employer.

You guys are making it too hard on yourself. I put my keys in the right coat pocket always and it's always exactly where I expect it to be.

Yup, I'm already up to 3 this year, it's only Jan 12th. Fortunately my employer lets me take any time I need.

I gotta say, since I bought a car with the vicinity handle button unlock/lock, it's been a gamechanger from Carrying Too Much Crap To The Car And I Can't Reach My Keys scenario.

I do the same but with my car when I do into a store. I always get the "Did you lock the car?" voice in my head. This is why next car I get is going to have one of those remote locks you can check on your phone.

That and keypad doorbells have meant I haven’t taken keys out in a long time.

Cross walks, I've almost been plowed over twice in the last week on the same crosswalk with people that race through cross walks.
I want to star carrying shotputs with me to put through their windows.

I cross a somewhat busy intersection daily near work and have had a few close calls over the years but it's usually due to people making a left turn while I'm walking through the cross walk either right in front of me where I have to stop or right behind me as I cross the center line close enough to the point I can feel the breeze of the car behind me as it passes. It's pretty crazy how many drivers are oblivious (or simply don't care) to the rules of pedestrians in crosswalks.

City needs to add more crossing lights and people need tickets to remind them how close you shouldn’t park to a crosswalk - or maybe based on the new heights of trucks that distance should be re-examined.
Our neighbourhood has a bunch of problem spots where a) that you can’t tell if anybody is starting to cross because they are coming out from behind trucks that parked too close, and b) oncoming traffic is blinding you with their headlights that are apparently factory set to burn the retinas of everyone around.

I also have one of those myQ things, and at $40, it is worth every penny just for the peace of mind.
The other thing is my wife's hair straightener. "Did I turn it off?" she would ask, I'd shrug, so we'd turn around just in case, and it was always off. So I bought a smart plug for it so now we can kill the power from anywhere instead of going back.
I'm not really into smart plugs and home automation and all of that stuff, but those two things have saved me much worry and time.

I bought one of those too. Now if only there was a product out there to remind to actually get around to installing it.

How do those work? You key in a special code to ring your butler in his keep and he comes and opens the door for you?

Same. My keys are on a D ring from MEC, and are always hung on the same belt loop.

As was covered 10 pages ago, of course people with serious medical conditions have lots of appointments. Employers should be ok with that for the very, very small percentage of people to whom that applies.
The point was OP suggested it was his whole staff.
Employers should be flexible and sympathetic. But it’s a little bit of a stretch if 100% of your staff is attending medical appointments at that rate.

I always keep my stuff in the same pockets; phone on the left, car key on the right.

That's an interesting one, does the sensor get mounted onto the door?
I have a LiftMaster garage door opener to begin with, so I just bought this one which was literally ten minutes to set up.
- Install app on phone, create account.
- Plug MyQ Bridge into network switch, add it to the app.
- Remove old garage door controller and install new one (it's two thin low voltage copper wires, I personally didn't even bother to turn off the power).
- Complete joining process to get all the components talking to each other.
It was pretty straightforward.

Add a webcam so if the question is, "How do you know the app is correct?" your response can be, "Because the webcam is showing a feed that agrees with the app."
