in games like that one I expect absolutely nothing to break in the Flames favour .. not even mad, just expected

Waiter: would you like a few minutes before you order?
Flames: No, I’ll order for the team. As an appetizer we will have the two minutes of sluggishness and absolute lack of discipline. Then we will have the poopoo platter as our main. For dessert let’s savor 4 minutes of desperate futility. Oh! And keep he lack of attention to defensive responsibility flowing all night till we are on the floor. Snaps the menu shut.

The Phaneuf trade isn’t even in the same stratosphere as the Gilmour trade. At least we got some serviceable years out of Matt Stajan. We got nothing in that Gilmour deal!!

We gave up a lot of dangerous chances tonight that he made some really good saves on.
Two weeks ago he doesn’t do that

Huberdeau Is spinning and tripping up and down the ice. Is he not capable of actually carrying the puck up the ice. He stops, panics and try’s to pass through 3 people as soon as he gets it.
When he makes some moves and dangles he looks good. Needs to be more selfish like Toffoli. Stop giving the puck away.

So a bad day in Flames land all in all. I missed it all because work was hell.
Hopefully I can catch tomorrow's game.
A couple of comments on today:
1. I kinda figured Sutter wouldn't play Phillips. I've just never believed Sutter has time for him.
2. Team needs to get behind Markstrom in a big way. He's not going to snap out of this funk if the team play tenuous in front of him. They need a game that re fortifies each other.
3. How did Zahorna look?
4. Crazy to say, but this D corps absolutely needs Kylington. Stones a good story and all but there's a reason he's generally a #7.

Toffoli has to one time his passes on the PP...Huberdeau set him up for an open net but he took too long

Can’t really think of any excuses for this one. Got goalied? Nope. Trap game of some sort? Don’t think so. Injuries? No.
The big money players did not show up. It’s happened a few times this season.

Might have had something to do with the fact that their assistant GM was admitted to ICU last night and their thoughts were elsewhere.

When you build a team whether it's a sports team or a business team the expectation and objective for the team is to exceed expectations, outperform etc.
In order for overachieving to occur a number of things are required. Highly skilled and talented individuals is an obvious need, another critical requirement is complimentary skill sets and of course chemistry.
Chemistry is interesting as it is much more than just the typical locker room interpersonal chemistry, the camaraderie and every man for his brother attitude that may immediately spring to mind.
Role chemistry is arguably of greater importance it turns out, that's each persons confidence that every other member of the team can and will perform their role to a high degree of competency.
You can even have a highly talented individual on the team that is challenging personality wise as long as that individual has exceptional role chemistry.
Without role chemistry, the inherent confidence of each team member in every other team members ability, even if you have interpersonal chemistry you won't have a team that over achieves.

Just saw Sutter's post-game presser. Dude is not a happy camper. Haven't seen him that pissed in a while, especially with his defencemen.
"Some guys came for a visit, not to try and win a hockey game. Very disappointing."

Sutter is part of the team. He needs to be better himself. The mediocrity that is the identity of this team doesn’t start on the ice.

5:02 he played. I love Looch, but he needs some nights off.

You know how Gretzky always knew to go not where the puck is but where it's going to be?
Our team this year has none of that. They are completely out of sync with each other. Nobody is in position. Nobody is in a place to receive a pass so they make dumb plays that get intercepted and turned into odd man rushes.
On the powerplay, they just pass around the perimeter or shoot it so hard it bounces out of the zone and they need to regroup.
They may have individual hockey IQs but they are completely desynchronized on the ice and they are just individuals struggling to make plays.

Watched the game late, turned it off as soon as jackets scored the second goal.
Huberdeau frigin sucks. Bad at all ends of the ice. That contract hurts now. Can't imagine what it looks like 5-8 years from now.
So many dumb plays by Anderson, stone, weegar.
Coleman has gotta go. Good 3rd/4th liner, why the f is he making that much dough.
Glad Phillips didn't play. Only guy on this team worth watching most nights is ruzicka.
Flames really gotta sell high on lindholm. He's highly average without elite guys around him.
Sad team. Hope the give up 10 tomorrow vs the leafs. Garbage team.

Wonder how much of an impactful visit it was?
I remember Bob Hartley benching a few guys after a Super Bowl, including the probable host last night
