I’m not sure I’d say likely, but yeah it’s as likely as unlikely at this point.

Expectations are the death of fun to be sure, but man we’ve seen this script before. I certainly can’t say I’m overly optimistic about the team as a whole at this point.

why do we have to make bad goalies look incredible? that's probably the most frustrating thing of all

why do we make life so easy on them

Didn’t they show a stat that they’re the second best line for GA / 60 in the league?

Give them time, with chemistry they will kick ass

Maybe the difference between a team with a bunch of highly (over)paid guys who think they are fantastic at hockey so they don't work...and the lunchpail crew we've seen outwork other teams almost every game they play.

When the Flames want to...they can be that. They just don't seem to want to very often.

What a pile of hot steaming groat clusters!

Bad game tonight...they are 4-2 in their last 6 and have the easiest schedule in the NHL remaining. LA is 3 above them having played 2 more games. Seattle has a 4 point lead despite an unsustainable hot start.

Odds are the Flames are a playoff team...not my odds

Yep great defensively but not enough scoring yet

it's better if they have to fight all season to make the playoffs than to coast in complacent.

I think there also needs to be more discussion of that goal called off. How often is a ref so out of position that he misses both a loose puck crossing the goal line and a player putting his hand directly over the puck in the crease.

Did they ever show the angle of the puck crossing the line overlayed with the whistle audio? Sure feels to me like that ref was going with "I had intended to blow the whistle" so it doesn't matter.

Lol. I’ve been firmly on the bandwagon since 1980. Just because I’m critical of the team’s play this season doesn’t mean I don’t still support them.

what part of this game looked like them fighting to make the playoffs to you?

Markstrom was the only reason tonight’s game was close

people are too mad at the Flames to blame the refs but that was a goal...game should have went to OT

Even if he blew the whistle he shouldn't have it wasn't ever covered (except maybe illegally by a skaters glove)

I don't think I would say that. He was good, but he didn't face a ton of dangerous chances. 3-1 seems about right to me (even though it was an empty net goal).

Just catching up after watching on pvr. Weeger's screw up for the 2nd goal was brutal. This team definitely has trouble scoring goals.

What's with everyone talking about players going out drinking last night? Was something mentioned?

Exactly. I've been there since 1980 as well, and share your sentiments. We've seen this story way too much.
