Not to be all Orange Julius, but I know that the Flames have been in contact with another bottom six forward over the month of August. I don’t really think it makes sense personally given the make up of the team right now but he did say Calgary was one of the five or six teams that had approached him.
Can’t name him as it was a conversation in private but was surprised to hear that the flames had interest. Definitely possible the flames just doing their due diligence.

If we guess the name correctly, will you tell us? I’ll go first-Cody Eakin.

Maybe Motte or Aston-Reese if they were going to move Lucic?
I know you can't name him but was just spitballing.

As others have gone over, he's not a good pick up. You're going to pay through the nose for what amounts to a one year pick up. And that's IF Chicago is willing to retain 50% of his salary. Otherwise it's even worse.

Kadri outproduced Lindholm by a handful, playing with Burakovsky and Nichushkin. He was on a 100 point pace. But it's a toss up to me, whoever plays with Huberdeau will produce more. I think they end up with relatively equal ice time

They should have forced Montreal to choose which pick they wanted and retained the flexibility to have options on decision making instead of giving up that ability.

This is a pretty contrived scenario. Not buying your use of the word "disaster".

Adding Kane would be the most insane way to top off the most insane off-season in franchise history. I would tune in to watch more games if Kane was playing first line RW for the Flames.

I would split up Kane and Huberdeau.
Huberdeau - Lindholm/Kadri - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Kadri/Lindholm - Kane
Make that the top 6 and roll with whatever line combination has the best chemistry.

Andersson is a solid player, but does he do anything better than Hanifin besides slap slots?
Rasmus had 50 points spending the entire year stapled to the top PP unit that featured two 100 point players and three 40-goal scorers.
Hanifin scored 48, mostly with 2nd unit. Hanifin is a better skater, better defensively, and plays with better leverage.
He’s only 25 and he’s this good.
