I enjoy the ATL and appreciate the time that goes into creating them, but I think this roundup would’ve held up without repeating the couple of homophobic posts from mouth-breathing Stars and Oilers fans. There’s plenty of other opposing fan takes that we can enjoy and mock.

This jumped out at me, and had me laughing quite a bit. I imagine it was true, too.

Pretty funny hearing the ranting about Bowness throughout form Dallas fans. When you think about how close the series was.
I guess we're not the only fanbase prone to hyperbole and pessimism.
Also, do Coiler fans really, truly think that LA was anywhere comparable to the Stars?!

I mean, I get it. That man coaches the most boring, uninspired and frustrating hockey I’ve watched in 20 years.
Even though it was getting results it always reminded me of this

Yeah, they probably do.
L.A. was declining as the season went on, especially after losing Doughty. If the season was 10 games longer, I doubt they would have made the playoffs. They were saved by the bell. A little more runway and Vancouver would have passed them, possibly Vegas too.
The Stars were 5th overall in the conference for the second half of the season. The position both teams finished was skewed by the first half of the season, but if you want to know which was the better team on day one of the playoffs, it was Dallas. Granted, we aren't talking about huge differences in points for the second half, it was pretty tight, but the label of "wild card team" unfairly makes it sound like Dallas was barely a playoff team while L.A. better. I would say that they were probably more or less equal caliber until you factor in that Oettinger put in the best playoff series goaltending performance in a generation.

I didn’t have any more thanks but wanted to give credit to Gaskal. Thanks for your ATLs man. They are some of the best interwebz around.
What a game. What an atmosphere. It truly was a dream come true for us.
Johnny was the most dangerous player on our team. It was a matter of time, But what a way to end it.
Props to Otter and his team. Those guys have been to the deep parts of a season and it shows.
I didn’t see anyone make this assessment but I think heiskanen is the next amazing 2 way dman. That guy hit three or four posts that game. We weathered the storm but how close it came to ruin.
What a rollercoaster of a ride. Big Z and gudbranson played terrific hockey.
Toffoli and Tachuck off the Schneid.
So many great performances by many of our flames. Backlund looked real good. Coleman looked battle tested.
Oliver, as much of an adventure he is defensively, he was critical to that first goal. He’s been a big part of our offence from the back end all season.
Hopefully hanifin learned a thing from heiskanen foraying deep into the offensive zone to creat odd man situations.
Rasmus looked pretty good.
I need to give marky some credit here. That guy is a warrior. As big as he is, he’s so agile and cat like. Markstrom the boneless. What a leader. For six million. What a shrewd signing. He’s gonna have his work cut out vs the greasers but if we stay out of the box we are gonna beat them down 5v5.
Dube looked like he knew what the stakes were. Really loving his sacrifice.
And that fourth line cycle was so grating on the Dallas team. That line was a big Clydesdale like effort for us. Looch played great and Ritchie played his role well and didn’t tKe a bad penalty.
Dallas was a great opponent. Hats off to them but dam were they greasy.
LFG!!!!!!
Go flames Go

Of the D-men the Kings iced against the Oilers which one would play ahead of Heiskanen, Klingberg, Lundell, or Suter? Roberson, Hintz, and Pavelski outscored anyone on the Kings. Plus the Kings played that entire series without Arvidsson who is arguably their second best winger and 4th best forward. In terms of playoff roster Dallas had a superior team before Oettinger went into God mode.

If the Oilers had played the Stars instead of the Kings, they would've suffered a back to back swept humiliation. Has any team in history of the league been swept in back to back playoff?

Of the D-Men on the Oilers, which one is better than Michael Stone?
