It is already mostly an echo chamber.

They don’t make a jersey in his size.

So it's a little more of a reward than a penalty is, which IMO, makes perfect sense. Tripping or hooking a guy that has a clear breakaway should have more repercussions than a casual trip in the neutral zone, or accidentally shooting the puck over the glass.
Also, they are exciting. And, IIRC, the objective here is entertainment.

We were talking about this at the office today.
For the Stars the penalty shot is preferred. Slightly better odds, but you don't burn up 2 min that you need to come back, and you might get a lift from the save.

Yah, if the situation was flipped around, I'd be ok with Matthew wearing a Sens jersey.
If Brady played for the Oilers though, I'd be pretty conflicted lol.

I started avoiding the GDTs a few years ago. Best thing for me as it's easy to get caught up in the negativity.
But what you're suggesting isn't any better. Basically you describe an echo chamber another way. Want to throw out any opinion? Fine. Don't want to get called on it (hint: this is another example of an opinion)? That shouldn't be a part of it.
Have opinions, get called on them by those that disagree. That's a forum, is it not?

I'm guessing there's some real estate from calling out people that completely over react to the negative side and an echo chamber.
Stay tuned!

Site that attracts "fans" of a sporting team, is pretty much destined to be somewhat of an echo chamber isn't it?
It's almost the definition of it.
Unless fans are evenly distributed on both sides of the realism line, which they're not, or at least shouldn't be.
Fans don't need a balancing agent to keep them honest.

Not sure who the guy is, but the girl is their sister Taryn.
BTW, I just noticed the gun rack above them, which appears to be made out of the arms of a bear... The right to bear arms indeed. Oh, Texas.

I'm not on the list but I found it to be poor taste. We're supposed to be a community of Flames fans through the ups and downs. People should be allowed to vent their frustrations. Call a person out for going a bit overboard, but not in a way that ridicules them much later on when you have 20/20 hindsight. I feel that this method exists only to shame and create divisiveness.

There's a lot of piling on.
A lot of prodigious posters have let or have been perma-banned. One has been brought back that probably shouldn't have.
The Flames sucking so hard for so long certainly doesn't help.
Forums in general are dying so there's that too.

There was a photo of the Tkachuk family with Guy Gaudreau that was posted on twitter yesterday. Not sure if it was deleted but I can't seem to find it anymore?

I guess it depends on whether you have a sense of humour about your own overreactions/misjudgments or not.
If the end result is we won I know I would happily eat crow later (and I will include my own posts if they qualify). I'm surprised you'd still be mad now and not to just laugh or shrug it off.
If you're going to change your posting style just to avoid being on a highlight reel thats meant entirely in jest/for kicks then I don't know, maybe it's worth evaluating what you should be taking so seriously or not especially given that we're just discussing a game at the end of the day. But I'll respect your POV, and you're welcome to go about it however you like.
I must say though the fact that its controversial is just adding to the fun of it.
Again just keep in mind that the entire thing is tongue in cheek and you're not actually on it to be shamed. It's just a bit of self depreciating humour for the board as a whole.
If it can make light of some of our worst moments here then I actually see that as positively serving.

There does not seem to be much about Darryl's decision to insert Michael Stone as 7th D.
Paid big big dividends.
Many were questioning this in the GDT.

why would they have a problem with him cheering for his brother? Should he be sitting there in Senators gear? If the Flames were not in it and Tanev was wearing a Kraken t-shirt to watch his brother, I wouldn't think twice about it.

One of the rules of the forum is to address the topic and not the poster.
https://forum.calgarypuck.com/misc.php?do=cfrules
You may not mean to be hurtful, but that doesn't mean people don't feel shamed when you call out them specifically.
If you had just posted a list of the comments but not attributed them to who posted them nobody would have thought twice about it.

Diving into the CP law books eh.
You're on it too, aren't you?
I'm going to let the Mods have the final say. I'll go with whatever they decide (if they even care).
Taking out usernames takes a bit of extra work and detracts a bit from the fun I think, but I'll let the powers that be advise me next time if it's needed.

That's a bit of a reach. I don't see any issue with holding people accountable for what they post here.
