what? Lindholm started overtime with Mangi, and Tkachuk was also out there later on. The line combinations were actually good tonight for OT. Glad Sutter didn't go with the exact same lineups that lost us the last 5 OTs. And Monahan is way to damn slow for OT

Through a quarter of the season, without hesitation, the Flames are the hardest working and best battling team in the NHL.

Team defence and goaltending win the end game! Top of the league in both !
And this even with our somewhat underwhelming offense.

Goes to show you can still win if you're tighter than a ziplock bag on defense, as a team. Sutter wouldn't walk into this trainwreck in mid last season and say outright he was winning ownership a cup if he didn't think a winning system could be implemented with this group of players.

Goes to show that having a proper leader behind the bench can get players playing up to their abilities a lot more consistently.

I’d say they were outplayed by the Leafs. But that’s it.

Better tonight. His line had some prolonged offensive zone possession time. I wouldn’t go near as far as outstanding but it’s something to build on.

7th in the NHL in goals per game.

Watching the Flames, not really impressed with that team at all.

I do wish the Oilers played the defensive systems both them and the Leafs play however. They are ferocious when it comes to hounding pucks and pressuring... something we don't do nearly enough of.
LOL

Talk about contradicting yourself. Started right by Oiler homer standards, then had a glitch from the cognitive dissonance watching competent, playoff-style hockey.

Agreed not outstanding but he played well. Retained possession a few times when puck was being attacked and some nice passes too.

TBF he mostly wants it as a straight up troll as he has Oilers friends.

On that note where is the best place to get one quickly online?

Re: Monahan.

I'd also say he was involved. But again was missing something that his old self had. Mix of Ice-Q and reflexes. If you didn't know him and his history, you would like his game tonight though.

The muscle memory is gradually returning. Patience, he still has it.

Yeah you guys are right, Lindholm did have 3 shifts in OT for a total of 1:91 and Tkachuk with 1 for :33 seconds but none for Monahan. I didn't really notice Lindholm though.

Playing playoff hockey all year is a problem. It can’t be elevated come playoff time.

Sutters “system” sucks.
This is one of my favorite Oiler fan quotes of the year.

Yes, one of the best defensive teams, with some of the best goaltending in the league, and a top 10 offense mixed in with top 10 special teams will never do well in the playoffs.

I'd much rather rely on just two players and a PP to go on a deep run. LOL. My goodness.
