Monahan’s game is absolute junk right now. His stick is where the puck goes to die. Hopefully he turns it around here.

Or its the fact that Jarry and Hellebuyck are good goalies who played well againsf the Flames.

You can do all the right things and not have things go your way if the goalie is playing lights out. Jarry was great tonight. It wasnt the flames making them look good.

It was a good game but it could have gone either way and the Flames were a bit lucky to win and get the 2 points.

Good game by Tristan Jarry as the Flames outshot the Pens 32-22.

I would have liked to maybe see a different player selection in overtime, no Lindholm, Tkachuk or Monahan tonight.

As pointed out already, the game was a 7 round shoot out and not OT as the title suggests. Again, lucky win for the Flames especially against a good goalie like Jarry.

Sweet snipe by Milan Lucic for the Flames only regulation goal.

I also think it was a bit of a fluke goal on the Penguins only goal as that pass by Crosby was meant for the guy down low but was deflected by Jake Guentzel.

Monahan was outstanding tonight. One of his best games in a very long time.

Outstanding is a bit of a stretch, but involved for sure.

It’s hard to recognize him still.

Both Lindholm and Tkachuk saw the ice in the OT period. Sutter mentioned in his post game that he was trying something different in the 3 on 3's , I assume because the Flames haven't had much luck so far, which is why you saw different combinations with Kylington starting the period.

Best thing for me for this season is, if you don't see the score I wouldn't be able to tell if Flames are winning or losing. They playing the exact same high intensive hardworking game - leading or losing.

Lost in the PGT chatter...

***Kylington point watch***

10th assist
13th point in 21GP

With the primary assist on Lucic's goal.

I thought that was the best they'd looked in OT yet this year. Some really good chances, just couldn't put it past Jarry.

Led the Flames with a 90.90 expected goals percentage and I think set up 4 or 5 grade-A scoring chances ... he should've had a couple points for sure.

Big win. I didn’t get to watch. Listened to the first period. They had a couple posts in that period but by the sounds of it they really outplayed the pens save for Jarry. What a game from him with xGF like that. 75% ? Sheesh. I know the pens aren’t the same team they have been in the past and Crosby doesn’t look like his old self but listening to Muller on the fan post game it seems that lindholm and backlund really shut him down. Lindy really is a complete player.

And I am really impressed with Kirk Muller as an assistant for this team. He is really well spoken and his tone when explaining the team tactics is really welcome. He seems like a great guy for the team. His break down of their 3 v 3 strategy and the goalie scouting reports were really insightful.

Flames deserves the two points tonight. The most entertaining game of the season IMO. Very solid efforts from every line. Still Wish Monahan and Dube to up their games though. Looking forward to the next game. Go Flames !

IMO the Flames have yet to be outplayed on the whole in a game, this season.

Under Ward, that happened in the third of forth game to start last season.

The quick and dirty gamer ... amazing that was Backlund's first ever shootout goal in the NHL.

Sutter takes the little things seriously and never puts square pegs in round holes. He may look like an old-timer but he adapts with the best of them. Good to see him working on that 3 on 3!

On that note where is the best place to get one quickly online?
