Maybe Intermectin isn't the answer but guess what, when you research something your work evolves and leads to new discoveries, not researching further 100% eliminates any chance of further discoveries.
I'm not scientist but I'm also not so naïve as to assume a positive outcome could not be derived from further research of Intermectin.
Your argument is basically that Snake venom can kill you so don't take it. Our argument is that you should do further research into it as it may lead to breakthroughs in blood clotting, pain meds, etc...
No, you have completely missed my argument. My argument is that it';s overhyped compared to actual test results, with detrimental effect on actual positive developments and steps that can be immediately taken. and there's a reason it's being overhyped and people are either falling into the "just looking into it" trap or actually participating in the distraction.

I don't think all present anti-vaxxers are as monolithic as you suggest either. I know many who have changed their minds once confronted with actual facts and results.

TBF, a handful of them changed their minds because they wanted to do things that required vaccination as opposed to being completely swayed. But obviously they weren't unchangeable.

I have been able to change one person's mind with facts.

I'm going to go clean my cape now.

I don't claim to be the guy that changed their minds. And for sure I know some that probably won't.

I agree with you on this, the only people I know that changed their minds did so because of the consequences of being unvaccinated.
I think the closer we get to 100% vaccination the harder it becomes to convince the remaining unvaxed. This is their Alamo

They do realize that COVID is Santa Ana in this case, and not the rest of us, right? I don't think they do. But yeah, at this rate it's going to play out like the Alamo for them too.

The hardest thing for people to do is admit they are wrong. I could be wrong about that.

"People like myself" are a problem for the mods, because we don't want malicious lies to be tolerated. The liars and trolls, though, they are not a problem. This is your argument?

You might have a point if the moderators did indeed have to fact-check, however, as you yourself admit, the community has done that for them. What value are these lying posters contributing? Do you think this thread was made better by adding in a farrago of dangerous nonsense and incoherent mutterings?

Straw man again. Speaking only for myself, I can respect someone who has a diametrically opposed opinion to mine on a topic, so long as that opinion is argued in good faith and has fact to support it. The lunatic fringe, though, I do not respect, but they are also welcome to their viewpoint as well so long as they do not lie in an attempt to convince others of that opinion.
Gotcha.

You still don't get it.

Are you offering to buy me out, or do you want me to just leave my own site quietly?

Good grief people. It’s a small hockey forum read by a few thousand people. Get over yourselves.

Yeah, some bad info got posted. Absolutely nobody reading it was convinced or swayed by the argument. The counter arguments are all well thought out and plentiful. Anyone nodding along to the anti-vax nonsense was already on that side to begin with.

If someone went into that debate with zero bias and no prior knowledge nobody would take the anti-vax side.

Moderating forums is a thankless and tedious job that’s done (I assume) on a volunteer basis. Get off their backs and stop taking a friggin’ Calgary Flames forum so damn seriously. I think the mods here are doing just fine.

The majority of posters here moderate the content with good counter arguments.

With all the potential things to be outraged or offended about in this thread, this is just such a weird hill to choose to die on. I am not sure that shooting the site host is the way to get us where we would like to be.

You're like a reverse anti-masker at this point. You don't need to be here. You don't like how it's run, then GTFO. No one is forcing you to stay.

The forum polices itself very well and this thread is proof of that. But again, if you don't think so and feel that mods or Bingo should do more, then I guess you're entitled to your opinion. But he's already said he's happy with how things have gone. So really, if you disagree, don't come here? Seems pretty simple.

Edit - Also, this is a fan site. If news or research is what you're looking for maybe this isn't the place? Further, this site is great for referencing news for the most part and those that don't (like in this thread) are challenged rather quickly to do so.

In related news, an anti-masker comparing mask mandates to Nazi Germany was surprisingly not interested in hearing from Holocaust Survivors on how the two situations are a bit different.

I do get it - you don't want to engage in debate, you have your opinion and you're wedded to it. Did you address any of my points directly and try to refute them? No, you seem more interested in sulking because someone disagrees with you (ironically).

I've made only two posts (three now) in this thread, addressing an issue highlighted by controversial nature of the topic, and where I vehemently disagreed with a laissez-faire attitude towards moderating misinformation. If you think this is challenging you, you are correct, because it is your policy. Should everyone just be quiet, or gtfo if they have a reasoned objection to your policies? Does that not conflict with your stated desire to allow everyone to have an opinion?

As far as buying you out of your site, open up the books and we'll see. Does that sound ridiculous? So does asking me to leave for no reason other than finding my opinion of your actions unwelcome.
