Upd: Canadian NHL Teams to require proof of vaccination to attend any arena events
This policy will apply for all events at the arena...

Earlier today, the federal government also announced that they are developing a vaccine passport that can be used to meet international travel vaccination requirements.
Now, we'll see if other teams in Canada follow suit. If they do, keep in mind, that it takes a minimum of 6 weeks from your first shot before you're considered fully-vaccinated (2 weeks after your second shot, which has to be at least 4 weeks after your first)... and the Flames' first preseason game at the Saddledome is six and a half weeks away. So, if you know any STHs who aren't yet vaccinated, they might want to get on that.

AUGUST 23 UPDATE:
CSEC has just announced that attendance for all events at the Saddledome and McMahon Stadium will require proof of vaccination starting September 15. Details to follow.

So no under 12 year olds allowed?
I don't disagree with the policy, but kind of crummy parents can't take their kids to a game.
After reading it, kids allowed but must wear masks.

Totally agree with this policy.
Just got off the phone with my STH account rep with the Flames and he advised the Flames currently have no plans to adopt a similar policy.
My understanding is they are considering one year deferrals on a case by case basis for season ticket holders who are not comfortable attending games.

as more and more venues put on restrictions like this (not to mention needing vaccine proof to travel to other countries) i'm hopeful these 'special people' will realize the world is a better place if you're vaccinated!
i'd love for the school system to do the same thing... your kid is 12 or older - ok, we need proof of vaccination or you can keep them at home. same thing for post secondary institutions. it's like the old "no shirt, no shoes, no service"... just add "no vaccine" to that policy!

Good for you for calling. I did the same thing. The more sth that do this the better chance that the Flames will actually do something (though I'm not holding my breath).

Me too. I'm not a season ticket holder but I go to a handful of games a year.
Not even considering it at the moment though. CSEC would be wise to implement a similar policy.

"Natural immunity" is not very effective vs. the variant strains, and then you have to decid what to do with those who had a presumed COVID-19+ status due to symptoms and known exposure without a positive test result. Two doses of mRNA vaccine are easy to demonstrate and are the most protective state.
