Right or wrong its helping add fuel to their fire, and it is clear even 90%+ vaccination isn't going to stop variant breakthroughs. But luckily, unvaxxed are the ones taking the risk, if you're vaccinated the 'real' risk is gone (death/serious complications). Sure you can contract it but the breakthrough death rates are laughably lower compared to many other common diseases we do not take this approach on.
KIDS aren't vaccinated yet and there are portions of the population the Vaccine is less effective on....no they are not just increasing the risk on themselves

The one year I got the flu shot I came down with the flu. First time I had the flu in decades. Stopped getting the flu shot and haven’t had the flu since.

Probably what the edmonton elks players are thinking.

Yeah that's what I would think too if I was an absolute idiot and had no idea how the flu or flu shots worked

This is like saying 'My grandma smoked for 60 years and never got cancer, so cigarettes must be fine'

The goalposts keep changing because the game keeps changing. First off, the disease was unknown. Then it was what protective measures would protect against it. Then it was holding out until a vaccine was available. Then it was seeing how effective vaccines would be and how many doses would be needed. Then it was variants and vaccine efficacy on those variants.

I see your anecdote and raise you the fact I’ve always had flu and shingles shots and never had either one. See also TB and rubella.

Say it loud for the ones in the back. Correlation does not equal causation. Did you also eat a different breakfast that day than usual?

Yes, minor breakthroughs may still happen, but won’t be able to be widespread, and won’t cause ICU collapse.

Plus, we can tweak the vaccines to a new strain (mRNA should be super easy), and get boosters when needed. If 95% of the population does this, getting COVID to something like where Measles is right now shouldn’t be unreasonable.

The venn diagram of glass bangers and anti-vaxxers is actually a perfect circle, so this is fantastic news for everyone in Canada

Wait… so now you want others to die for your privileges to infect other people.

That’s some tight logic.

I would argue there's not even correlation in that statement, more like two separate facts.

What were your symptoms when you had the flu that year?
