People that read the stuff posted by Housley and crew and nod their head to it were never getting a shot to begin with. More people will be persuaded to get the shot with the Flames actions today than those that wont because of the great conspiracy.

It really has to suck to be an anti-vaxxer though with the realization you are clearly coming down on the wrong side of history with this thing. I think its why they are getting more aggressive and doubling down on the nonsense.

Years ago, I used to spend a significant amount of time posting in sovereign citizen/freeman-on-the-land forums. I very patiently, very painstakingly, and very respectfully attempted to debunk many, many stupid, ridiculous and potentially harmful arguments (which were based in clear and obvious misunderstandings about statehood, sovereignty and the law.) In my war against woo, I cited cases, legislation and treatises.

Eventually, I reached a point where I wasn't sure whether I was doing my more harm than good. So I stopped.

I'm still not sure what the right thing to do is when confronted with other types of woo (like on this thread).

This sets the precedent for being able to post some pretty awful and/or dangerous stuff, as long as you have a link. It also puts others in the spot of feeling obligated to refute the false information.

People spreading the BS have a wonderful tactic that gives them a huge advantage. They can pump out "links" far faster than anyone can cite sources to counter the disinformation.

The proof will be a barcode on your phone that links to your digital vaccine record. It won't be a paper card. Many countries have been doing this for a long time already. You just "tap" your phone by holding it a few inches away from a scanner, similar to the self checkout at a grocery store.

You know what would be nice? If everyone just got the vaccine so we didn’t have to have this debate. This issue is entirely avoidable.

The vaccine is safe. It’s effective. It’s a testament to modern medicine.

Look, I don’t like the idea of having to show a passport or medical records to private businesses either. I really don’t. But that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make so that we can go back to normal.

You can have a normal life again too. All you have to do is get a harmless vaccine. That’s it.

I personally find the discourse is much more valuable by letting posters have free reign for the most part. Bad posts with misinformation are readily and quickly shown to be just that. Its pretty clear that anti-vaxxer arguments don't have any substance when something ridiculous is posted like housley4Prez did and he provides a link that is shown in multiple posts to not support his position at all. Its valuable to read because when you run into one of your friends and he surprises you with some of these misinformed views its all the easier to clearly articulate why they are being idiots.
