When they are made the same way and do the same type of thing. So, since they were first developed.

Get the vaccine and be part of society. Don't get the vaccine - fine - stay the eff home and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

For those that can get the vaccine and are choosing not to - I've got no time for you and I have not respect for you. And I'm going to treat those people as they deserve to be treated.
Is that you talk to people in real life who may not be as informed as you?

The information is out there. We have a responsibility as members of this society to make informed decisions about things that are important as this.

And generally I don't talk to people in my real life who are against vaccination. When I encounter them I choose not to engage with them.

There’s a different between people who aren’t informed and people who are misinformed, eager to spread that misinformation, and unwilling to listen to/accept properly sourced and vetted information.

You’re not this naive. Stop acting like it.

I've honestly never come across an anti-vaxxer in real life. My entire family and everyone in my social circle is fully vaccinated. If I do encounter someone like that who isn't informed, I will do my best to inform them in a polite manner. If they chose to remain ignorant after that I wouldn't waste any more time with them

The politicization of COVID, vaccines, masks etc (particularly in the US) may go down as one of the great tragedies of human history.

If you agree there’s a difference between those two groups, then I think there’s a difference in how you treat them. Are you suggesting that anyone not vaccinated is spreading misinformation? I don’t and have very different views on those types of people.

Sorry but internet tough guy, #### them nonsense is childish. If you think people here are spreading misinformation give them your attention.

I posted some real data which I thought spoke for itself. Heaven forbid we shine a light on that.

Sorry you think it’s nonsense
The type of real data you provided is widely available and easy to find
People are choosing to ignore it or not seek it out
And my patience for that has run thin

You can see the infection numbers among vaccinated people in Alberta here: https://www.alberta.ca/stats/covid-1...ccine-outcomes

At the bottom of the page are charts showing infections, hospitalizations, and deaths broken down by age and vaccination level.

Of all the fully-vaccinated deaths, only 4 were people under the age of 75 (2 between 40 and 59 and 2 between 60 and 74). All 4 of them were diagnosed within 20 days of receiving their second shot, so they were likely exposed within the 14 day window.

The charts in the middle of the page show the vaccination status of people in the hospital. Right now, 72% of the people in the hospital, but not in ICU, are unvaccinated and 90% of the people in ICU are unvaccinated.

When you have people in here trying to spread false information saying things like "the vaccine doesn't actually prevent you from getting covid", those are just plain idiotic, ignorant people who have failed themselves and whoever else they're spreading that false information to just from not doing the easy due diligence.

If they want to continue to be complete idiots and believing the dumba** conspiracies they read/watch made from people living in their parents' basement, that's on them. But if you're gonna do that, you can be one of those basement isolators. Don't expect me or any of us vaccinated people to welcome you when you show up in the outside world gloating how you haven't gotten the vaccination because you "didn't fall into that government trap" or whatever other bulls*** you believe. Otherwise it's very likely that you'll [rightfully] get the s*** kicked out of you.

I've had covid. Tested positive January 2nd. Had very mild symptoms, then was better. Then a week later, things hit the fan again. Ever since February, I've been dealing with the covid side-effect Parosmia (basically, it's damage to the olfactory nerves that results in the large majority of foods & drinks smell & taste completely rancid). For those of you who don't know what it is, look it up, because it really f****** sucks and has taken a massive toll on my mental health ever since.

Doctors don't know how to treat it because it's so new to them. They also have no idea if it's something that goes away with time or can be permanent. Many people recover, some people still haven't after over a year.

I'm 23. Not knowing if I'll ever be able to enjoy the foods & drinks I once loved ever again really f****** sucks. Having to wear a nose-clip just to get nutrients I desperately need from foods that make me gag due to Parosmia really f****** sucks. Feeling isolated because your friends & family truly don't understand how difficult it is really f****** sucks.

With all that said, I don't need ignorant f**** who think they're smarter than everyone else by not taking the vaccine spreading that stupid s*** to other people, because they're seriously putting the well-being of their lives in serious jeopardy.

I know there are truly ill-informed people. I don't have anything against them, as long as they don't pretend to know things they're ill-informed on,

But for the ones who are clearly misinformed but continue to spread dangerous lies as if they are fact...

Like Jiri said, #### them.

2. If you are fully vaccinated why is there such a concern that other people get vaccinated? I really do think the only way we achieve some type of herd immunity is to open it up and the people who are not vaccinated will unfortunately, may get sick. I am just hoping the ICU cases can remain low which I hope the having higher rates of the elderly vaccinated will help.
It ends when the ####ing morons get vaccinated

I think most would agree that it already has. Not just the USA. Huge factors everywhere including international travel, draconian measures, and conflicting "research" have turned what should have been a moderate pandemic into a turning point for modern society. People may one day study how all this led to the fall of the greatest superpower to date.

I'm not going to wade into the debate of vaccination efficacy/rates/science as truly, this vaccine and others speaks for itself.

What I can't stand though are those who would make a selfish decision and then present it to the rest of society as if they're trying to save us all from the tyranny of the state. You may fool yourselves but not the rest of us. If you don't want to take the vaccine for whatever reason, fine (not really, but fine), but stop trying to flip the narrative when the rest of society points rightly to you all as holding us back from the normal that you claim you are fighting for. Man up, woman up, and just loudly declare you don't want the vaccine for whatever reason it is, but don't insult the rest of us by saying it's for our own good that you're doing so.

Now, just because I've seen it mentioned repeatedly, I'll be clear, the above mentioned group does NOT include those who truly cannot take the vaccine. This has been implied throughout, but obviously, if you've started telling yourself a certain narrative, you'll see whatever you want to. And honestly, if you truly cared for those unable to take the vaccine and how their freedoms may be impacted, then get the bloody vaccine! The best way to actually protect not just their "freedoms" but perhaps their very lives would be ensuring that enough people are vaccinated. So don't try and paint the rest of us as the ones infringing on "rights and freedoms," again, you may fool yourselves, but we're not buying it.

Guess I just don’t have the same degree of anger about it. IMO it’s easier and more useful to refer to the data than scream at the clouds.

I see a lot of people arguing both sides that like to use anecdotal data to prove their point. Look at tim it’s friend post. It shouldn’t be good in one case and not the other.

And while it may be rare, it’s true that breakthrough cases are happening. Maybe the vaccines become less effective over time, I don’t know.

But when someone cites breakthrough cases as a foundation for their view, does it really make you so mad that you can’t at least stop and point to the most current data? You say “everyone” has access to all this data. I’d say you live in a slice of the community where that is truer than in many others.

Yes I'm angry. I know people who have died from COVID. And like many it's had direct impacts to my life.

Yes people are using anecdotal on both side but the anti vax side ONLY has this and misinformation.

And yes there are breakthrough cases. I've never said otherwise.

But there are MOUNDS of data supporting getting vaccines. And what I see in this thread are some people who are deliberating ignoring actual data and deliberating spreading information.

In my opinion using facts and information has clearly only been so effective - which is why I'm in favor of vaccine passports so there are consequences to choosing not to get the vaccine (if you are able to).

Which takes us back to where this started. If you want to go to a hockey game - you should have to get a vaccine. Don't want a vaccine? Cool. You shouldn't get to then partake in that type of event.

Why stop at just hockey games? Segregate everyone in all activities based on vaccination status.

Yes I generally think if people are refusing to get vaccinated (again who are able to and have the choice) they should not be able to attend public events such as concerts, theatre, movies, sports, etc. Or travel internationally.

If it's all about personal choice then have them make that choice.

Choices come with trade offs.

Not going to lie, I read through this whole trash thread. Jay random and fire it up talk about all this data they have seen. Haven’t provided a lick. Happy to pick apart other people’s arguments saying show me the data. Many people provided it and they haven’t responded at all to the data. Instead they have moved to personal attacks.

The true anti-vaccine , vaccine hesitant playbook is out in fool force

I don't believe you. You outright hate anyone that is not vaccinated why would you draw a line at all? How far do you think we should go, put certain people in camps? Lock them in their homes?

No vaccine = not part of society. This is literally segregation.
