Positives of this season:
1. I’m not paying hundreds/thousands of dollars to watch this lazy tire fire in person.
2. I don’t have to interact with fans at the dome while getting chirped about this lazy tire fire of a team.
3. Jerseys look nice
Otherwise every other single thing about this season has brought me anger and frustration. Hope this bunch gets shipped out far far away

Or they get the first overall in a crapshoot draft where there is not an elite talent available. Whatever happens the flames will find a way to succeed in not succeeding.

Without a doubt the jerseys have been by far the best part of this season.

UFAs after this season:
Ryan
Leivo
Nordstrom
Ritchie
Nesterov
Rittich
Robinson
Petrovic
Rinaldo
Not much to pick from there, but would be nice to get a pick or two back from a couple of players.
RFAs:
Bennett
Dube
Valimaki
Kylington
Zag
Simon
Could see a move or two from this group as well by the TDL.......Bennett maybe?
The rest will probably be dealt with in the offseason. Not sure this is the year to make blockbuster trades with everything going on, although I would be ok with it if it made sense.

Yeah. We need a new Bennett to replace the old Bennett. I joke, sort of.

Some blamed the HC, exclusively.
Some blamed the top players , exclusively.
Some had blame for both, but mostly on the coach.

Some added the management , as being the problem.
Would be interesting to do a poll, to see where people stand now.

I am not surprised at todays result. The Flames are as much as a bottom feeder as the Sens.
In the meantime, get rid of Treliving, Pascall and Maloney.
Both Sigalet (goalie development has been atrocious with this club) and Labarbera (not sure why he was brought in to begin with, as his work with the Hitmen was mediocre at best) can be shown the door as well.

I get being disappointed about the Flames, but suggesting we all turn in our E=NG cards is utter blasphemy. It is an eternal truth that is not in any way ever affected by what the Flames may or may not be.
Through it all, Edmonton is no good.

Coming into the season, I was excited that given the circumstances the Flames basically play every other night.
Nowadays I dread that we play so frequently.
It's basically just unrelenting disappointment and frustration instead.

This and I was pumped about the odds of a Flames Leafs playoff series. I would have loved that, and it’s pretty much an impossible situation for a Cup Final in a typical year. I can’t believe 2020 me thought they could make it there.

I want the Flames to “sell” soon, so that we can hopefully get some call-ups into the lineup and I can look forward to watching some fringe parts of the future.
The is team needs to keep bottoming out. Only another 22 games - suck as much as you can suck. It’s a short period of pain, and hopefully it helps correct some things.

* Gaudreau has lost a step and is unwilling or unable to fight through tight checking.
* Monahan’s development stalled out as a one-dimensional sniper who can’t carry out any of the non-sniping roles of a centre.
* Gaudreau and Monahan’s deficiencies without the puck means they get caved in 5 on 5 and present a serious matchup problem for the Flames.
* Giordano’s play has dropped off a cliff, as would be expected for any player of his age.
* Backlund is a good defensive centre but is streaky offensively and can’t be relied on to provide secondary scoring when the Monahan line gets shut down.
* For all his skill and emotion, Tkachuk has not shown an ability to have a big impact in important games.
* The leadership group has not shown the ability to step up in crunch time.
All of this has been known to Flames brass since at least the Avs series. They didn’t need Sutter to come in and diagnose the roster.
