Probably for the best, this team isn’t even close to being a mediocre group. Not sure I want Brad doing the teardown, but who takes this job when Gaudreau & Monahan are middling assets at this point.

Everyone in the Flames organization knew what the roster problems were. And any fans who didn’t weren’t paying attention.

Of all the years to really suck, this was not the year to do it.

As a fan, COVID has basically taken away most things to do, so it would nice to have a good team to cheer for.

From a franchise point of view, we will have a hard time maximizing value on any assets we trade at the deadline due to quarantine issues outside of the division. And I would think that the draft this year is going to be a bit of a crapshoot with so many players sidelined. If we do manage to suck our way to a top pick, the top rated players are all D-men, when we so desperately need an impactful centre.

Finally, we've lost out on a chance to go on a deep playoff run because the division really isn't great. And yet we're here swirling the toilet.

Good times.

Unfortunately this is their mess and they are the ONLY ones who can dig themselves out. They need to own it. If they're a last place team then they're the ones who have to wear that.
Not mention the Flames have a cap, there is no chance that would ever work.

The reason it's agreeable is because we might get a higher pick without him. The timing was really bad late.

Flames missed out not making a move for Hextall, now he is in Pittsburgh. pizza man Treliving is clearly not the answer, at this point, i would take Pierre McGuire over him.

Really, really disappointed.

Changes are needed for sure but we shouldn't get rid of everyone for whatever we can get. The problem with fire sales though is that the returns could set us back years. We have to be confident Darryl will identify the ones to go. The ones with the ability to commit to the team can stay and the GM can add to them.

Yeah...there are a few changes needed but let's be rational here.

That’s the spirit!

We’ll get em next time.

It's going to be so Flames that they have a terrible season, then end up with 1st or 2nd overall in a crapshoot draft, and get the next Yakupov.

It will make people long for a Bennett-type bust instead LOL

Realistically they're going to suck for a few years, so it's not that bad.

And nobody told Brad. That is the most disappointing thing about this, if someone told Brad it would have been fixed.

Unfortunately this team's history would suggest that if they do move on from Treliving, it'll be way too late and nothing will get done because the new guy is still "assessing what he has."

We'll pin all our hopes on the shiny new pick in a weak-ass draft, rinse and repeat.

I hope he’s fired before they get to the airport.

I’m concerned about the pitching but the bats have been good this spring and Vladdy Jr looks great since he lost the 42 pounds this off-season. I think we’re in a position to make some noise. Go Jays!

I was going to say Milbury just to get my point across, but that would have been too crazy. Pierre is only half crazy

I'm with sutter all the way, ship out the guys that can't work in the system.
Is trying to make this team a tight defensive team trying to make a horse out of a mule?

Gio just said in post game presser 'we're not a high scoring team'- sutter's words. team didn't have any problems scoring goals in the peters area.
If we're going to be a tight checking defensive team we need personnel changes.
People get confused over the Bill Peters era. He was owned the playoffs and his time in the 19/20 season was almost as disastrous as this season. The opposition altered the way they played the Flames and Flames have had no answer to that strategy ever since.
