I still would have preferred Boudreau or Gallant, but there is no question Darryl is an exponentially better coach than Ward and has had proven success in this league.
I just worry that he's still not the right coach for this group.

Wow.... just seeing the news. I'm in shock!
I never saw this coming. I seriously thought BT was going to stick with Ward until the end of the season.
No excuses now.
EDIT: Wow... .just saw a 3 year deal too! Craziness!

No, I honestly thought they wouldn't have an immediate replacement if they did decide to fire him so since they didn't do anything yesterday or Tuesday as long as they won tonight they weren't going to finally pull the trigger.

I suspect this was ownership stepping in. I also suspect and hope Darryl will have a large say/voice at the table when it comes to constructing the roster. BT just went from the most powerful voice in management, to second. LOVE IT and for 3 years too.
