Off the roster.
I love this team.

Kinda like tossing an ice cold goalie into the middle of an elimination game when he hasnt played in months and the team is reeling.
Ward is operating on another level from the rest of us simpletons.

Nothing like TSN cherry picking comments from Tkachuk without context, to stir the pot. Though it now appears to be changed, as my webpage was from a few hours ago.

Tkachuk is literally the only Flame - player or coach - that is taking any responsibility for the Flames play.
Flames fans are really weird sometimes.

Tanev for example is at 32 or 5.42 per 60. Gio 29 or 4.78 per 60.
He and Valimaki are also tied for second worst +/- on the team with -5s. Only Bennett has them beat with his -6.
He does lead the team with hitting posts however with 3. That's unfortunate considering he doesn't have a point as a Flame yet.

Not saying it’s the case here, but teams and players that lead in block shots often lead in shots against.
That was Russel’s problem.

I think Nesterov is a decent 6D and a pretty good compliment to Valimaki because he’s steady. I don ‘t blame them for wanting to see what Mackey can do. I’m too lazy to see if the “get Gawdin in” people overlap the “why is Mackey playing” people.

This is a very important game
I hope the Flames respond accordingly.
I have no idea what will happen.
The start is likely huge.
And I realize I am not saying anything that isn’t obvious.

He's talking like he's taking responsibility. His on ice play seems to tell a different story. Though he was marginally better last night. I'd prefer the player and/or the team say nothing and show up in the game than say all the right platitudes and lay another egg.

Every other team in Canada has been slammed with this type of media coverage outside of Alberta. Inside of Alberta, the media is super generous to the teams. We’re largely forgotten. With this Canadian division, the spotlight was always going to be on. Every other team has a narrative, and Calgary’s? Underachieving disaster. Years upon years of failure, contracts coming up, controversial star forward.
I actually welcome the scrutiny. We’ve been so mediocre for so long.

I thought Renaud Lavoie's comments on the radio the other day were interesting, he said he can't believe how wimpy and slow and pathetic the Canadian division is. He mentioned watching the Bruins Rangers game and it was just a war.
The Canadian division is sorely lacking in intensity. The Flames are guilty. They are also lacking in talent in a bunch of areas, and that's... just the way it is.

Mackey has more upside to his game which is why I feel he's getting a serious look. It's noticeable that he's playing over guys like Kylington.

I wish Ward build useful 4th line, instead of nobodies with no roles. I would call Ruzicka and play with Gawden and Simon or Dube and tell them bring energy and speed. If scores some goals promote them a game or two.

He started with Ryan on the 4th line - useful. I believe he had Bennett and Nordstrom (who has a role). Ryan makes his linemates better, so that was a pretty big loss.
Ruzicka isn’t providing any speed. And you aren’t putting Dube down to 4th line.
You could try Gawdin-Bennett-Ritchie.

Has anyone picked up the play in which Monahan got hurt? I imagine a blocked shot?

Doesn't look like he was credited with a block in his last game. He was out for the final shift vs Vancouver too.
Maybe tweaked something in practice.
