Good for Tkachuk saying that. Besides Markstrom, who else on this team is saying this kind of stuff. Certainly not anyone else wearing a letter.
Yeah it's not Monahan's style. Or Giordano's. Or Backlund's. All of the answers from those 3 are always canned "we need to play our game" or "we need to be better as a team". Hmmm, wonder why this team has a leadership problem?
It's to the point where when Tkachuk, Rasmus or Markstrom say "I played like garbage and need to be better" that it sounds very refreshing.

*Flames players/Ward say the same things about needing to try harder and be more consistent over and oveeer again after eveeeeery game*
"What a surprise. Absolutely nothing new to see here. Same old same old."
*Tkachuk calls himself out and puts all the pressure on him*
"Blah blah blah. Put up or shut up."
Lmao.

Tkachuk has had similar types of quotes before and not really followed them up though. We've heard a lot of the "right things" said following losses for years and years by this team, with not much actually followed through.
I respect what Tkachuk said, but it won't mean much if he's quiet on the ice again.

I know he has. It's up to him to show up now.
But considering we've all been complaining about absolutely no one saying anything but the same old same old all season, I find it hilarious that even when a player actually speaks up like Chucky did here, that still no one is buying it.

The negativity in here sure is bad. I was looking forward to maybe seeing some line changes and potential solutions to coming up short last night instead of the constant "this is bad, Tkachuk isn't sincere, blow it up".
I hope they prove you all grouchies wrong. Something obviously isn't right and things need to change, but we all know they are better than this.
I, for one, will remain positive. We are 17 games into this season, and we are far better off then Ottawa or Detroit. We've been in this spot before, and we could be in a far worse spot than a .500 points percentage at this point in the season.

Chucky talking the talk, now he’s got to walk the walk.
Little does he know Ward is playing him with Froese and Rinaldo tonight

What's going on with Nestorov was settling in nicely and now has become the 7th D?

To answer your question Yeah, in an instant when something good happens I tend to smile.

Yeah, you could be in a worse spot, but considering you have a top 3 goalie in the game you sure should be doing a hell of a lot better. That's the problem people have. You shouldn't be at a point where you're feeling lucky you're not Detroit.

Solid chance Glenn Gawdin makes his NHL debut tonight in Edmonton.
Per NHL media site, Gawdin has been added to the active roster along with Buddy Robinson. Byron Froese no longer on the roster. #Flames

What do you mean Froese isn’t on the roster anymore?
That’s Byron freakin’ Froese! Johnny Gaudreau’s go-to line mate in a 4 on 4 situation when the team is down by 1!

Geeze, apparently you don’t want to become Ward’s golden boy. Earlier in the year he raved about the play of Nestorov, now he’s the 7th dman. Froese was his go to guy in the most recent games, BOOM now he’s off the roster. Think Ward is just throwing crap at a wall and seeing what sticks. His roster management is off the charts bad!!

I honestly thought the Gawdin would never even make it into one NHL game. I'm happy for him. It sounds like he's a better player than what I thought. I hope he continues to prove me wrong in a big way.

C'mon Flames, show up for a full 60 minutes of a spirited affair. I want to drink in celebration, not to drown my sorrows away.

Last night: Froese is on the ice for a o zone face off after a tv timeout with 2:28 left in a one goal game
18 hours later
Off the roster.
I love this team.
