The only disclaimer I have is that I don’t know who filmed it and from where (maybe the building had already been overtaken). But regardless, the people directly engaging with the police need to be found and prosecuted.
What a mess.

I would take it a step further, Define this as an act of terror and insurrection and reform the military tribunals from 9/11. Set up bunk space at Leavenworth Military Prison.

I appreciate the responses to my previous post. I agree an armed(?) takeover of the government should be expected to be met with deadly force. It’s a shame she died for such a stupid cause.
I’d still like to know where the law stands in this situation. I’ll do some research later today.

Well of course we were all thinking that - I even posted about seeing two masks (both under the nose) in the entire audience of the pre-riot rally.
My point is we weren't worrying about Covid for ourselves and our own daily lives as our primary external thing to be worrying about. The attempt to crush democracy in the most powerful country on earth incited by the president was a little more attention grabbing for a day.

This moron wore his work ID badge to the riot. He doesn't work there anymore.

You may want to save yourself some trouble. She was aggressively moving forward on armed police in a restricted area of the US Capitol by busting through multiple barricades, doorways and windows. Then she got shot. On what planet would the cop be in the wrong to shoot her? Your perspective that there is some grey here is stupefying. Like, what are you going to figure out in the law to get more clarity here? Basically, are you fataing serious?

And to add to this, we know now that they had no idea of what to do once they got in other than mill around and take selfies and such. They didn't know that at the time though. They could have been armed and dangerous, and who knew what their intentions were?
It's really a miracle that more people weren't shot. I would say that was incredibly restrained.

Yes.
All part of the security for the President. Secret service still has a job to do no matter how loathsome Trump might be.

Trump did the FBI a favor when he made masks political issue. Can't believe these LARPers didn't think they would be identified.

lol cancel culture, right.
I didn't realize companies had to explicitly write "don't attack the heart of our country's democracy, and DEFINITELY don't do it while wearing your work ID badge" in his work contract, but I'm sure there's a clause or two that'll give them cause.

newsmax.com and foxnews.com are glaringly different today. Murdoch and Fox News have slowly abandoned Trump over the last month. I'm not giving them any credit or anything for it, but I really think that Trumpism moves to the fringes once Fox gives up on them. Does Fox News survive though if all the Trumpers leave?

I thought the Hobbits were being taken to Isengard, not the Hobbits are taking Isengard.
