Ugh, Democrats are so ####ing weak.
Still 25% of the vote yet to be counted. Further, Maine has weird rules where if the candidate doesn't get 50% of the vote, people can elect the 2nd choice instead of the 3rd or 4th place candidate. She could still win that ####ing election.
Just maddening.

There are some ideologies that simply are against what people wish. Trump got the Latino vote in Florida for instance. They voted someone who built a wall to keep Mexicans out. Failing to understand the why is a critical Democrat failure.
This disenfranchising of a demographic is precisely why 2016 got Trump elected and why he almost won again.

You aren’t wrong, but let’s cool it on describing the demographic that voted for Trump as “disenfranchised”.

Yes, I admit these are smoking guns, but it's what Republicans view as problems.

Just on the bolded. It's starting there and going up a dollar per year until it gets to $15. It's happening. Americans need to get used to it no matter what. Wages under $10/hour are essentially slave wages.

Majority vote party lines. The irony in all this is if Trump has the same policy and acted like a decent human being he likely wins
another irony is that covid helped him IMO. They just pretended it didn't exist and got people to the polls to cast votes that 100% counted. Democrats caution saved lives but cost votes.

And the Republicans made it; "Elect someone other than a Democrat". It didn't matter that their own platform was devoid of any coherent ideology. They voted for Trump for who he is, not for what their party is (or used to be).
Trump basically didn't run on a platform. He ran on diatribes of "Fake News", "Obamagate!", "Hunter Biden!", "Lock Them Up!", "They are going to cancel Christmas!", "They hate God!", "They want to take your guns!", "They are going to take your windows!", "They are going to abolish the police!", "Antifa, Antifa, everywhere!"... etc., etc., etc...
Biden goes into a debate describing health care reform in detail, and Trump's response is simply "our plan is better", with absolutely no details on how it will be better. You can't debate people like that, and sorry if this sounds elitist or hollier than thou, but people who vote for Trump are not using their brains.

Good. Again i think it's just messaging. The NDP in Alberta raised it from $10 to $15 over four years. But Biden doesn't say this in his platform, he comes out, "IT WILL BE $15!" You and I know it's probably gradual, he needs to say that too.
It may not seem like much, but the opposition always picks holes on your argument.

I don't think that Covid helped Trump. If there is no Covid, the reality is Trump cruises to a second term. I don't think that with the results we've seen that this is even questionable.

This is so much bull#### it is beyond belief. The Republicans have been playing identity politics for decades, just about WHITE identity and their specific politics. Politics is all about identity, so this has always been a bull#### narrative. And spare me the cancel culture crap as well. We have rating systems for music and movies because of Republican thought control and their cancel culture. What a load of horse####.

Educate us. What is to understand here, because I don't think you understand Latinos in the slightest if you think Latinos in Florida care one iota about a wall. If you can't tell the difference between Cubans, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, and so on, you may want to stay away from this making these broad sweeping generalizations about "Latinos".

Fear and ignorance is why Trump almost won again and why he has traction with the demographics he does. Disenfranchisement? Need you be reminded the Republicans systemically disenfranchise vast swaths of non-white voters each and every election? SMH

That attitude is why we are waiting for a president to be elected on the next day of what should have been a 'landslide loss' by reddit posters and the media after the worst president of all time still has a chance for re-election.
At some point you have to think back and understand what you are selling isn't working.

- Fox News: Biden 238, Trump 214
- MSNBC: Biden 227, Trump 213
- Associated Press: Biden 238, Trump 214

Do you think so? I think an alarming takeaway should be that Trump probably would have cruised to re-election if he had bothered to take COVID remotely seriously. He could have handled it like Trudeau, every day at 11:15am, have a press conference showing empathy. Instead he picked fights with Fauci et al.

I disagree, the vast majority of people who support Trump weren't going to change their vote because of covid. Trumps approval rating didn't change much nor did the polls.
The fact that Trump was able to run a "normal" campaign and get people to vote in person surely helped him. There will be thousands of mail in votes not counted. Trumps hail mary legal challenge is 100% covid related due to mail in votes.

Really need the Democrats to win the Senate, otherwise it'll be 4 years of Biden being blocked.

alarming lol you were pulling for Trump this whole time no? sure as heck seemed like it.
Anyway its an opinion...Trumps numbers didn't change much with covid, his supporters didn't seem to care. Dems got mad but what else is new.
I heard his covid response flipped seniors in Florida but its seems they more than made up for it with rallies, lying, and getting people to the polls. Aren't there hundreds of thousands of mail in ballots missing in Florida?
