Because it is so damn cold in the Nordic countries.
Spoken like a true west coaster ... It's pretty damn cold in the rest of this country. I wonder what our equivalent is? Labatt Wildcat? That is the absolute worst beer/beverage I have ever ingested.

Had to Google it. Dill and/or caraway flavoured kinda vodka. Not sure why that was invented.
It’s for the digestion, promise *hiccup*
It’s just a pure vodka spiced with for example aniseed, wormwood or cummin etc, flavour is very local and usually very bitter. . Very traditional Swedish, we call it “snapps” so it’s a shot of vodka.

For the record: I grew up in Calgary and lived there until my early-twenties. I also lived in Norway for three years. I am plenty familiar with what it is to be cold.

I don't doubt it, just a friendly jab.

I’m sure having a close friend in Lindholm and a couple other Swedes on the roster helped quite a bit in landing Markstrom actually. Probably way more than people give credit for actually.
Markström says this himself in an interview somewhere in this thread, he mentions something along the lines of, Sweden is such a small country that all the Swedish NHL'ers know each other either by playing together or against one another.
Lol I still get a bit tilted when I watch that scene where he somehow kicks out ten-bell pucks from Backlund, Tkachuk and Andersson in rapid succession. Like how do you not score on that sequence.

The Hockey News has the top goalie rankings... They have Markstrom coming in at 11 and Talbot at 18.
Some hot takes in those rankings. Especially Dallas and St. Louis. Both had terrible playoffs. Colorado and Edmonton as well. One was a backup in the play in and the other one is a widely recognized weakness of the team. Yet both middle of the pack.
I don't understand putting Carey Price at 2 while simultaneously calling him the best goalie in the NHL in the write-up. Statistically, he's gotta be in the back half of starters
I feel like Price is one of these players like Doughty coasting by on reputation
