Seeing that Florida rumor makes me wonder if Ekblad might be the surprise piece to move.
Erik Johnson was moved about the same point in their careers.
Hanifin+2019 1st for Ekblad?

Why are you trying to trade away a 1st when your other trades look like you're trying to win the turtle race?
Maybe if the + is a 1st.
Team-friendly contract vs. maybe the worst contract in the league in a few years, the + would have to be something like taking Lucic off our hands.
So if you add Dumba, Koemper, Domi, and OEL, where does the cap space come from to add Hall?
Overall, your proposed trades leave us without a 1C and with too many D to protect in the expansion draft, and then there is the loss of the 1st. Furthermore, if we can't afford Hall, we are down two top three forwards when we really need to add at least one.

Is Ekblad actually living up to his contract now?

Johnson's a real interesting name. 30years old and signed for another 4 seasons at a very reasonable $5M, career average of 52pts a season. He plays the position that we need and is a RS.
It looks like he was playing #3 center behind Point and Cirelli the whole year. I think he'd kill it centering Tkachuk and Mangipane/Bennett/Dube/UFA.
Tampa isn't in a great cap position after this season. They only have 3 defensemen signed for next year and still need to give Cirelli a raise. Will be interesting to see what they do.

I think he is, though his playoff appearances have been pretty sub par.

Yeah, I haven't followed him much at all but I know at one point there was some questions based around his play and contract. Never really looked how serious they were though.

Sorry if this has been asked, but way too many pages to wade through to see if it has:
I am surprised teams can trade players considering some teams are still playing. Dumb question: Can Dallas or TB/NYI trade players? They obviously can't add new players to their playoff lineup as that would be unfair, but are they permitted to do a trade now which would take effect after the playoffs are over? If you are in the stanley cup finals your priority isn't trades, but it would seem unfair not to be able to trade and miss out on an available player just because you have had success and are still playing.

Yes they can trade. Players just have to wait until the following season to join a new team. Players traded away are off the roster.

Every time I have watched Letang he has looked strong. None of the stats I have looked at back up your stance. He may turn the puck over a fair bit, but that is to be expected from a guy who plays as much as he does and has the puck on his stick as often as he does. To say he is potentially worse than Gustafsson defensively makes it really hard to take your opinion seriously.

Teams can technically trade at any time they just can't have players on their playoff roster after the deadline.

True, we just rarely see it probably because the is more time and more predictable benchmarks.
At this point, there is no reason to not be on the horn, unless it's either Dallas or Tampa that you want to talk to.

Ekblad is really good, doubt either him or Barkov are going anywhere.
Huberdeau I could see being on the table. Huberdeau for Monahan? I know it doesn't make much much sense for the Flames unless they can flip him or Gaudreau for a C. But value wise it would be fair imo.

Seriously #### that. I genuinely won't pay for tickets to a single game as long as DeAngelo is a Flame, if he's acquired. Unless I get free tickets, in which case I'll go and boo him whenever he touches the puck.
